Three to five hours on the water seeking Biggs killer whales in the Salish Sea, with high success rates for sightings.
This tour focuses on the captivating Biggs killer whales, known for their healthy population in the Salish Sea. Depending on sightings, the trip lasts between three to five hours, with a strong emphasis on locating orcas, whose impressive travel range can exceed 100 miles in a day.
Departing from Orcas Island, you'll board fast vessels designed for optimal viewing. While orcas are the main attraction, there’s a chance to spot other marine wildlife along the way. Be prepared for cooler temperatures on the water and remember to bring your camera to capture these remarkable moments.

The experience was truly incredible. Liberty and Derick were fantastic guides, and I appreciated the informative presentation from Liberty. Seeing a single male dolphin and a pod of females with two playful juveniles was just perfect, and I enjoyed the sea lions as well. Nichole and her son Kayden, who is in the navy, also had a great time.
This tour was fantastic. The crew was extremely friendly and well-informed. We spotted orcas, a humpback, and a minke whale. The views were stunning, and the boat offered ample comfort. It can get chilly while the boat is cruising, so be sure to dress in layers. I highly recommend it.
It was an incredible experience. The boat had a comfortable number of passengers, and the crew was outstanding. We had ample time to observe orcas and enjoyed a tour of the nearby islands from the captain. The vessel was well-equipped, featuring a restroom and a cozy indoor space to avoid the wind.
The whale watching tour was the highlight of our San Juan Islands trip. Captain Drew and naturalist Katie were excellent, delivering a well-organized and informative experience. The boat was clean, and we received a thorough safety briefing before departing. Drew shared insights about sea lions, birds, and islands, while Katie engaged the kids with fascinating whale facts. We even tracked a pod of orcas for a while. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience.
Sam and Chaz put in exceptional effort to ensure we spotted an orca, and it was incredibly exciting when we finally did. The experience was well-organized, safe, and reasonably priced, keeping us warm and dry while we tracked the orca. Thank you!
I had an incredible time on the whale expedition. The driver and instructor were exceptionally friendly, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. This is an experience that everyone will enjoy. Don't miss out!
Brock and Jarrett were exceptional guides on our whale watching tour. They dedicated extra time to ensure we experienced a variety of wildlife. I would gladly go again. It was a fantastic experience with my son and his wonderful girlfriend.
I took this trip with my girlfriend and mother, and it was simply stunning with beautiful views throughout. We saw two pods of orcas relaxing and interacting, which was an incredible experience. However, what truly enhanced our journey were the captains, Brock and Jarrett. They were the complete package, making the trip worthwhile even if we hadn't spotted any whales or orcas. Their friendliness and expertise contributed to a warm and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the excursion.
A heartfelt thank you to Captain Matt and Naturalist Kate for an unforgettable afternoon aboard the Blackwater 2. Our family of seven, including our grandson Finn, had an incredible experience. We spotted 11 orcas, along with seals, birds, and even a harbor porpoise who seemed quite out of place. Watching the whales interact, both their young and older members, was a remarkable sight. Whether swimming elegantly or hunting, it was rewarding to observe them in their natural habitat. We highly recommend this excursion—it exceeded everyone’s expectations! A trip with Matt and Kate is truly worthwhile.
This whale watching tour was truly unforgettable. We were lucky enough to see Orcas, and hearing them breathe profoundly touched me. Gabe and Jake patiently addressed our questions and shared fascinating wildlife information. On the way back, they took their time to point out sea lions, eagles, and even big horn sheep. It's clear that they genuinely care about these tours. I strongly recommend booking this incredible experience.
