The tour was well-organized and secure, with a route that matched the description. The hotels were clean and adequate, and we managed to see all the attractions we wanted. One important detail to consider is that the tour mainly catered to non-English speakers, which wasn't clearly indicated on the booking site at the time. English-speaking guests did not have the same experience as those who spoke other languages. I heard from another passenger that the tour guide was quite humorous, as evidenced by the laughter around us. Fortunately, we didn't require much direction to appreciate the natural surroundings.
Seeing Crater Lake and Mount Shasta was one of the highlights of our visit. Jason was knowledgeable and confident throughout our excursions; he was a wonderful driver and very considerate, especially towards us as older travelers. We highly recommend this experience to anyone considering it.
The tour did not meet my expectations as it was conducted entirely in Mandarin. It is misleading to market this as an English-speaking tour. Perhaps my experience was uniquely frustrating since I was the only non-Chinese speaker; every 10-15 minute narrative about the sites was reduced to a brief overview like, "This stop: Crater Lake, 1 hour." Although the guide was friendly and well-meaning, their English skills were lacking, making it difficult to understand essential details, such as dinner arrangements. On a positive note, the attractions and hotels were pleasant, and the driving was decent, albeit quite fast—our driver even received a speeding ticket. If you're okay with just being taken to beautiful locations or you know some Mandarin, then I could see this tour being worthwhile. My primary issue lies with it being advertised as an English-guided experience, which it was not for me.
I had an excellent journey with Lei Song as my guide. We explored charming American towns like Redding, Klamath Falls, and Eureka, while taking in breathtaking views during our road trip. We visited Crater Lake National Park and walked along the trails in several redwood national parks. The trip concluded on the scenic Redwood Highway 101, where we also stopped at the Sutter Home Winery in Napa Valley. I'm grateful for such a thoughtful guide!
The view of Crater Lake is breathtaking. Our guide Jason was excellent, making every effort to ensure we were accommodated. The schedule was laid-back, and the natural scenery was stunning, especially the redwood park, which beautifully illustrates nature's evolution.
We ventured out for a day trip in snowy and rainy conditions but ended up turning back to San Francisco within the same day. The poor weather was widely reported, yet we still departed from SF.
This tour is ideal for nature enthusiasts! Both Crater Lake and Founder's Grove stood out as memorable experiences. The stunning beauty of the Redwoods is remarkable, and it's incredibly calming to stroll among them. A heartfelt thank you to Charlie, our excellent tour guide, who was friendly, courteous, and genuinely eager for everyone to enjoy the tour. Excellent work, Charlie!
Just returned from a fantastic 3-day adventure led by Jason, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The journey included breathtaking views of the redwoods, Crater Lake, and more, with a perfect pace that never felt hurried. One highlight was an unexpected stop at a gorgeous beach off Highway 101, which truly took my breath away. The itinerary was meticulously organized, providing ample time at each location to soak it all in. A major thanks to Jason, our tour guide, who elevated the experience. He drove with skill, kept everything on schedule, and infused the trip with a laid-back, enjoyable atmosphere. His attentiveness was commendable, ensuring the vehicle was comfortable and capturing wonderful photos for the group. His positive energy made the whole adventure feel seamless and enjoyable from start to finish. If you’re considering a trip to this region, definitely choose Jason as your guide.
The experience was far from what I expected. The entire tour was conducted in Mandarin, which is unacceptable since it was advertised as an English-speaking tour. The guide didn’t communicate well, leading us to feel lost at times. It feels dishonest to market the tour as English after confirming multiple times. Additionally, I had to sit in the back next to a pile of loose luggage by the window, which seemed unsafe, indicating poor planning for storing luggage. I will be seeking a refund since we did not receive what was promised.
It was a truly worthwhile experience. Our knowledgeable guide, Charles Z, and dependable driver, Leon L, along with the stunning scenery, made the trip unforgettable.
