The San Blas islands are stunning and culturally rich, making them a lovely place to visit. Being on the boat, swaying gently with the hammock while enjoying the sunset and taking great photos was a highlight. However, I suggest bringing your own water, drinks, snacks, and a beach towel, as well as your snorkeling gear. The boat's snorkeling equipment was inadequate, with only one mask and snorkel connector, and fins that didn't fit properly—one got swept away by the current, complicating my attempts to put it back on. Don't expect daily sailing; island hopping is done via dinghy. It’s customary to pay $2 to visit each island. Ensure you understand what’s included in your package and get clear communication regarding transportation from the hotel to the port and the boat. I was only given the pick-up time, with no information about the boat name, which made me uneasy. Once at the port, I had to wait for the boats to arrive, and when asked the boat’s name, I was left guessing. I was the captain's first guest, and the organization was lacking. The food options were limited and mostly fried, with only water and tea available. The desalinator was broken, leading to restricted water usage. The boat needed thorough cleaning and maintenance. I was charged $836, while the listed all-inclusive price was $700, and I waited three days for confirmation before my card was billed. Would I return? I would consider coming back, but I would look for another company, as I wish I had known I was the first guest for this captain/host. The experience felt unorganized and poorly managed.
The highlight of our trip to Panama was undoubtedly San Blas. It's an ideal spot to unwind and escape from it all. Everything was well organized, and we appreciate all the efforts. We look forward to returning.
I visited San Blas during the low season, yet enjoyed bright sunshine and minimal rainfall due to the archipelago's unique micro-climate. The water was incredibly beautiful and clear on sunny days. While I couldn’t sail extensively due to time constraints, I plan to return in the high season for more island exploration. The journey from Panama City involved navigating rough roads in a 4x4 and taking a speedboat to reach my destination, but San Blas was definitely worth the trip. Jenny was extremely helpful in coordinating my travel to and from the sailboat and was always available via WhatsApp to address my inquiries. My driver, Luis, was punctual and clearly experienced with the route to San Blas. Captain Nico made the experience unforgettable; he ensured that I had everything I needed, from meals to activities, and prepared a delicious paella using fresh lobster caught by the local Kuna people. I appreciated the opportunity to interact with the Kuna, who were welcoming and shared insights about their culture and lifestyle. There were countless activities available, or you could choose to relax. I enjoyed swimming near the islands, snorkeling, observing sting rays, and marveling at breathtaking sunrises and clear night skies filled with stars and the moon. I relaxed in a hammock on the island and had drinks and played games with locals and fellow travelers. Staying on a classic wooden boat, I never felt cramped as a solo traveler. Overall, my experience was enchanting and allowed me to appreciate the simple yet delightful offerings of San Blas. I would love to return.
The skipper seemed unwilling to depart from the port until I insisted on the second day; otherwise, we would have remained there without sailing. My lobster dinner was sourced from a local restaurant on the first day, and there was no other fresh food. It wasn’t until late on the second day that we finally had a cooked meal with fresh ingredients. Additionally, they charged $100 for transportation while other travelers paid only $50.
Sailing the stunning bounty islands of San Blas was a fantastic experience. Relaxing in the bay aboard Fabrizio's Grand Soleil 39 provided a friendly atmosphere and a wonderful culinary experience featuring fresh fish and lobster. We cherished every moment. The transfer to and from Panama is a bumpy ride on a noisy boat, coupled with a wild 4x4 driver, yet the beauty of San Blas makes it worthwhile.
An unforgettable adventure with excellent organization. The skipper and hostess were discreet and provided great service, showing us stunning secluded anchorages.
My experience on the Dike with Jorge and Deisy was incredible. They were exceptional hosts, and the Dike itself was a great boat to enjoy for a few days. The food was fantastic, featuring delicious paella and fresh lobster, with perfect weather throughout our stay. We spent our days swimming, snorkeling, and discovering the nearby islands. We even enjoyed a lovely barbecue with some of their friends. This area is stunningly beautiful, and this experience is a must for anyone’s bucket list.
Working with Jenny for our booking was a breeze, and our experience was incredible; we unexpectedly had the entire catamaran to ourselves. I suggest reaching out to the crew ahead of time to clarify what is provided, as we received some evening drinks that we wouldn't typically enjoy, and we were somewhat let down by the absence of wine.
My partner and I loved every moment of our cruise. Captain Diego truly made the experience special with his efforts to ensure we had a great time. The food and stunning scenery were fantastic, but it was Captain Diego's engaging personality that elevated the trip from amazing to unforgettable.
Jenny simplified the trip planning process for us. We were lucky to have both Niko and Niko as our guides; they were fantastic and very approachable. The food was great and the snorkeling experience was well organized. They were very accommodating and created a relaxed atmosphere.
