Three-mile walking tour of five Hocus Pocus filming sites in Salem — includes insights on the Salem Witch Trials and local maritime history.
This walking tour highlights five filming locations from Disney's Hocus Pocus, celebrating the film's 33rd anniversary. The route covers approximately three miles at a brisk pace and is not recommended for those with back, knee, or hip issues, as well as respiratory, circulatory, or cardiac conditions.
In addition to visiting the sites, you will hear stories about the Salem Witch Trials and the area’s maritime history, offering a broader context of Salem's historical significance. Be aware that the tour concludes at a different location than it starts, so plan your transportation accordingly. Pioneer Village is available as an optional add-on during the season for a $5 fee.
Reviews
This tour was incredibly enjoyable. If you’re a fan of Hocus Pocus like me, you will have an amazing time. During our Halloween week trip to Salem, we packed a lot into three days and had a blast. Our guide, Hilary (with one L), was fantastic—knowledgeable and fun. She shared numerous stories that brought the film to life. We had the best experience with her. I highly recommend booking a tour; you won’t be disappointed. We plan to return to Salem in the summer, as it’s a beautiful destination.
Michael's friendly nature made the tour enjoyable and unforgettable. We gained a lot of knowledge, and he provided excellent help with taking photos.
This tour exceeded my expectations! As a huge fan of Hocus Pocus, it felt like a dream come true. Michael enhanced the experience with his extensive knowledge, positive energy, and fantastic storytelling skills.
Everything was wonderful! Violet's extensive knowledge and warm personality made the experience great. We especially enjoyed her engaging style and the fun trivia questions she included during the tour. It was truly a delightful experience.
We truly enjoyed the Hocus Pocus tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about both the film and the history of Salem. Although we walked over 2 miles, the experience was so enjoyable and entertaining that we hardly noticed.
The guide was fantastic, and I strongly recommend this tour to any Hocus Pocus fans. Our tour guide provided excellent information throughout the experience.
The tour guide was outstanding, providing timely updates and clear meeting instructions. If you're a fan of Hocus Pocus, this is a must-do tour. I’m really pleased I booked it, as locating all the sites independently would be challenging. You’ll definitely get your exercise in, but I suggest taking this tour to learn intriguing details about the film and other aspects of Salem that you wouldn’t discover on your own.
Our tour with Michael was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. We appreciated all the stops on the journey and found the information provided to be very engaging.
My daughter and I, both avid Hocus Pocus fans, enjoyed the Movie Location Tour in Salem. It was among the best tours we've experienced here. We've visited Salem previously, usually during busy seasons when this tour was fully booked. Going in May, during the halfway to Halloween celebration, was ideal due to fewer crowds. Our guide, Rebecca, was fantastic and truly knowledgeable about Hocus Pocus. She provided rich details about the places we visited and shared fascinating stories about the cast and the film's production, highlighting little-known facts. There were trivia questions, and those who answered correctly received Halloween candy at the tour's conclusion, along with “Hocus Pocus” gift bags for everyone. The walking distance is considerable, so wearing good sneakers is a must, especially for the last leg leading to Dani and Max's house. However, most stops were within the town, and since it wasn't peak season, we could take pictures without crowds. If you're a fan of Hocus Pocus, this tour is a must-do, and if you get Rebecca as your guide, you're in for a real treat.
This was a great experience that offered a lot of information, especially for fans of Hocus Pocus. Be prepared for a lot of walking, but the journey is definitely worthwhile.
