We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon sailing. K & K were wonderful hosts, making it a fun and relaxing way to finish off a hectic few days in Salem.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The crew was exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.
The experience was quite enjoyable and calming. The crew were friendly and accommodating. It’s a wonderful romantic atmosphere, perfect for couples.
Sailing on a schooner is an essential experience when visiting New England. It gives a glimpse of how travel was during colonial times. Initially, I felt a bit anxious, but helping to hoist the sail eased my nerves. Kos and Kate, the crew members, were incredibly knowledgeable and engaged with everyone, sharing insights about various lighthouses we saw. My husband and I truly appreciated this unique experience.
The yacht was wonderful, a 1939 schooner created by John Alden for General Patton, featuring many original components. The knowledgeable and enthusiastic crew, including Captain Tyler, Kate, and Chaos Cos, encouraged us to help raise the sails, which was a delightful experience. We were fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather. Overall, it was truly worth it.
The crew was excellent and the ride was enjoyable. The staff had a lot of knowledge, which made me feel secure on the boat. I really liked the hot apple cider and wished they offered medium-sized shirts.
The highlight of our trip to Salem was definitely the sail on the When and If Schooner. This beautiful historic ship is maintained by a dedicated and enthusiastic crew who genuinely love sharing their passion for tall ship sailing. Upon boarding, we received an introduction to safety procedures and sailing basics, and then we had the chance to assist in raising the sails. It felt incredible to work alongside the crew to set off. We were provided with wool blankets to keep warm and encouraged to explore the deck, take turns at the wheel, and check out the cabins below. The crew shared interesting stories about the area, provided us with history, and served drinks, including hot spiked cider. With only eight guests and three crew members, we were able to engage, learn, and help hoist sails while enjoying a beautiful sunset over the harbor during our two-hour journey. I highly recommend this experience; sailing on a 1939 wooden tall ship is a unique opportunity to connect with history.
I thoroughly enjoyed the sunset sail on the When and If on Sunday, 10/26. Even though it was a bit chilly for late October, both the staff and passengers maintained a wonderful atmosphere. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable about sailing. As it was my first experience on a sailboat, it was fascinating to see how the sails worked. Drinks were available for purchase, and I also got a commemorative long-sleeve T-shirt. Learning about the boat's history, especially its commission by General George Patton, added to the experience, making it feel like a glimpse into American history.
My friend and I took a sunset cruise on the Marimar Schooner, and it was unforgettable. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and added a lot of fun to the trip. We loved capturing photos, enjoying delicious dark and stormy cocktails, and chatting with fellow passengers and the crew. The evening was beautiful, allowing us to experience a side of Salem beyond its witch history. We highly recommend this cruise to anyone who enjoys being on the water and values these historic schooners. This adventure truly exceeded our expectations.
This experience was a standout moment of our girl's trip. The crew was incredibly friendly and enjoyable from the start. We had the chance to steer the ship with the captain and hoist the sails, making for a fun and relaxing sail. The onboard bar was a nice touch, and we appreciated the interesting history shared about the boat. Booking this will be a decision you won’t regret.
