Ariane was very friendly and performed well overall. However, when selecting Spanish as my preferred language, I anticipated being paired with a native Spanish speaker. At times, her strong accent made it challenging to understand her. Moreover, having a local guide from Salamanca would have provided a richer experience, as they would have had deeper, firsthand insights into the city's history and culture. Although Ariane has lived in the city for two years as a student, she is not originally from Salamanca.

We had a delightful two-hour sightseeing tour in English with Teresa, and we highly recommend her. Moreover, Teresa is friendly, approachable, and very aware of the needs of international travelers. Having lived abroad, she offers a thoughtful, global viewpoint that enhances the experience for visitors from diverse backgrounds.

For the $300 price tag, we expected a knowledgeable guide who could share the city's history, yet our guide, who had recently retired and did this part-time, lacked formal education on Salamanca. Given the choice, I would have opted for one of the many available tours priced at $30-50 that would have met my expectations better. I would recommend avoiding this option unless they can guarantee a qualified guide. The experience felt more like a casual stroll without historical insights, so I rated it 2 stars, increased to 2 due to the guide's friendliness.
