• The journey includes viewing seasonal waterfalls (if present during your visit) and a spring offering pedal boating, kayaking, and motor boating (boating at your own expense) with views of the Jabal Qara mountain range. A visit to Salalah is not complete without exploring this picturesque valley, a popular site in the Dhofar Region. You can also trek from one section of the valley to another. • The boating occurs in a scenic canal located amidst the Al Qara Range mountains of the Dhofar Mountains. Boating fees are not included. • While Taqa is known for its castle, it also boasts a lovely beach that is ideal for bird watching. The beach offers excellent views of Taqa city. • Taqa Castle is one of the notable landmarks in Dhofar, constructed in the 19th century. Its walls are made from robust ‘Taqa Stone’, a local limestone largely formed from fossilized shells and corals. The castle complex includes a well, an open-air jail, a majlis (sitting area), bedrooms, a kitchen, and storage areas, showcasing traditional weaponry, jewelry, daily household items, and vibrant traditional garments. • This area features a beautiful beach lined with coconut trees and farms, where you can enjoy fresh coconut milk from local vendors. The famous Haffa Souq (Al Husn Souk) is also located here. • Along the drive to Mughsail Beach, a farm en route can be seen from the outside, although it is not open to the public. It is known for its Frankincense trees. • Mughsail Beach is a major attraction on the western side of Salalah, known for its stunning scenery along the Arabian Sea and making it a must-visit destination during your time in Salalah. • The Marneef cave features a natural trek and a natural fountain (blowhole/geyser) at Mughsail, which can shoot up to 28 meters high depending on the season. • Engage in an off-road adventure to reach this untouched paradise with turquoise waters, ideal for swimming and relaxation. The beach, flanked by mountains, presents charming coves, rock formations rising from the sea, and culminates in a cove with emerald waters.
