I pre-booked the Fundy Coast to Fundy Shore Tour for September 28, 2023, but on the day of the tour, I was informed that the bus was running 20 minutes late. Eventually, a representative from Freedom Tour admitted that the bus was broken down and that there would be no tour that day. I understand that things can happen, but it has now been three months and I still haven't received a refund to my credit card. We are currently trying to resolve this with the credit card company, but Freedom Tours is denying the cancellation. It’s now January, and I have yet to see a $178 USD credit. If you enjoy being cheated, this tour is perfect for you. Their last-minute cancellation ruined our only day in port and led to ongoing issues with the credit card company. I highly recommend booking your tours with another company.
Our guide, a local from St John, shared extensive knowledge about the city. I really enjoyed St Martin, along with the experience of dining at the restaurant and relaxing on the beach.
The guide was charming and knowledgeable. However, the allotted time was insufficient to truly appreciate the sites, and the bus was overly crowded, making it difficult to see properly.
Fundy Cove was quite impressive; however, the long drives left us feeling rushed at each location. There were not enough bathroom facilities available, and we spent a significant portion of our time waiting in line instead of enjoying the sights.
The trip was fantastic. The driver was polite and provided a lot of interesting information about the region. We arrived at all our stops promptly and returned to the ship on schedule. I would certainly book this again. The caves and scenery were stunning.
The tour operators and staff were excellent, but the experience would have been greatly improved by focusing solely on St. Martin's Sea Caves and Reversing Rapids. One hour was simply insufficient for lunch and exploring the sea caves, especially since time was taken up with other unnecessary stops like Irving Park and the construction site of the Tower. It would have been more beneficial to share the history of the Tower while driving since we didn't exit the bus. The Sea Caves, being a UNESCO site, deserve more time. After purchasing a delicious lunch, we were quickly back on the bus. Overall, it was a nice tour, but prioritizing quality over quantity would enhance it significantly. I did appreciate the tour guides, though the bus seats could have been cleaner.
Our guide was outstanding overall. It was fascinating to see the river flow one way and then reverse direction. The lunch at the caves was enjoyable but on the expensive side.
Penny was a wonderful guide, but we found ourselves short on time at the various locations, which limited our chances to explore or shop. Additionally, we experienced bus problems, including an AC failure that made for an uncomfortable ride in a warm van. To top it off, the van door wouldn’t open at our final stop.
The sight of the Reversing Falls Rapids was incredible. Our tour guide was not only wonderful but also had a great sense of humor, making the experience well worth the price.

Gary had an impressive wealth of knowledge about the history of St. John and the Fundy Coast, including its past and present inhabitants. The Reversing Falls Rapids were intriguing, and the caves and beach near St. Martins were delightful, complemented by excellent seafood chowder. Gary kept the tour lively with engaging questions that he answered, making it both exciting and captivating. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially those arriving from a cruise; it’s definitely worth your time and money.
