The experience was wonderful; we spotted a dugong and many beautiful turtles. I highly recommend it as an unforgettable adventure.
The experience was exceptionally well-coordinated, safe, and organized, featuring a seamless transfer with pick-up and drop-off. Upon arriving at the harbor, we boarded a spotless and well-maintained boat, attended by an incredibly friendly, engaging, and motivated crew. Our first guided stop took us to a reef, while the second location was the standout of the trip – we were fortunate enough to encounter a manatee, turtles, rays, and clownfish. The guide even captured some memorable moments with our camera, which we greatly appreciated. Following a tasty lunch, we were comfortably returned to our hotel.
Our experience on the tour was excellent; we received exactly what we had hoped for. Although it's a popular tourist spot, the organization was efficient, with timely transfers and no issues. A safety briefing was provided on board, with guides who communicated clearly and showed genuine concern for our safety. They closely monitored the sea conditions to ensure everyone’s well-being. The boat had ample space, and snorkeling groups were kept small for a better experience. We explored the reef, spotted dugongs and turtles, and enjoyed about 30 minutes of free snorkeling time, which is rare on many tours. Drinks were readily available, and the food was delicious, plentiful, and easy to digest. While we did share the attractions with other groups during high season, this was expected. Fortunately, the animals appeared calm and unbothered, and our guide ensured they had enough space to swim freely without being disturbed. Lifebuoys were accessible, and swim vests were available if needed, with the motorboat always nearby for assistance. Fins and masks were provided as well. Overall, we were very pleased and highly recommend this tour for anyone wishing to see these wonderful creatures and the beautiful reef teeming with fish.
This was a fantastic snorkeling excursion overall. Unfortunately, we didn’t spot any dugongs, but we did see some turtles. The tour and pickup were well-organized, and the lunch buffet was ample and tasty. I do want to note that while German was advertised as the language, the tour was conducted primarily in English. Despite this, communication was smooth. I would still recommend this experience.
It’s crucial to highlight that dugongs are endangered and face increasing threats each year, requiring them to surface frequently and suffering from diminished seagrass. Their feeding time is now drastically reduced due to disturbances. It saddens me to think I might be among the last to witness dugongs in Marsa Alam, and I urge future tourists to act responsibly around these incredible animals. I want to commend our lead diver, Ramadan, who was the only guide among many to clearly instruct everyone to maintain a respectful distance from the dugongs. We participated in the boat tour in Marsa Alam today, which was fantastic. We spotted dugongs, sea turtles, and even a large pod of dolphins. The crew was exceptional, especially Ramadan who guided us in the water, the chef who made delicious meals, and the entire staff who were friendly and made us feel safe. An important note for upcoming visitors: thermal wetsuits are available for rent for the entire day, not just for one dive, which wasn’t mentioned when booking. There’s an additional fee of 10 € per person. My daughter and I decided to rent them at the beginning, thinking we’d need them for the 45-minute dives, but we found we were warm after the first dive and didn’t use them again. I share this for future guests to be prepared, as some may lack extra cash. At the end of the tour, there's a voluntary tipping opportunity. There is no pressure, but it's a nice way to thank the crew if you enjoyed the service. There’s also an optional fee for photos and videos, typically 40 USD or 40 €, presented before seeing all the content. You only get a glimpse of 2–3 samples on a small camera screen, making it hard to assess their quality. I ended up paying a bit more than the dollar equivalent but didn't negotiate because of the effort the photographer put in. The photos and videos are sent through a WhatsApp link. Overall, we were very pleased with the experience. However, if you’re seeking more water time or are interested in underwater photography, consider inquiring about private tour options if available.
This experience was absolutely amazing! The crew was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Spotting both turtles and a dugong was a major highlight, especially since dugongs are rare to see. Every detail was well thought out, and we would happily do this again. The ability to communicate through WhatsApp added to the convenience. Thank you for such an unforgettable adventure!
It was a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, and we had an immense amount of fun.
The group size was quite comfortable, making for a pleasant experience. The food provided was satisfactory, and drinks were available for self-service at any time.
Everything went smoothly. However, we were disappointed not to spot any manatees.
This was a fantastic trip that I wholeheartedly recommend and would gladly experience again. The team was professional and friendly, prioritizing safety by splitting us into smaller groups. We encountered turtles, lionfish, and stingrays. Although we didn't see a dugong, the photographer captured amazing videos and photos of us snorkeling with turtles. The 35 euros spent was definitely worth it.
