A full day, 12-hour trip — explore the Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum with a small group, including lunch and transport from Hurghada.
This full-day tour offers a small group experience, travelling from Hurghada to Cairo in a comfortable minivan with a travel time of about 5 hours each way. Pickup from your hotel starts early in the morning, so it's wise to bring snacks and water for the journey.
Upon arrival in Cairo, the itinerary includes a visit to the Giza Plateau to see the Great Pyramid of Khufu, along with the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, and the Sphinx. An optional camel ride offers a different view of these ancient wonders. After lunch, the tour continues to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, where you can explore a vast array of artifacts, including those from Tutankhamun's tomb. Return to Hurghada allows for more scenic views as the day concludes.

Picked up at 1:20 and returned by 11:30, making for an incredibly long day. While the staff were friendly and accommodating, the many stops extended our travel time significantly. Although only two groups were present, the tour duration was claimed to be 16-18 hours, while it actually took around 22 hours. The museum visit felt hurried, but the Nile trip was enjoyable. A stop at a perfume oil shop left us feeling pressured to make a purchase, and the staff's demeanor changed when we chose not to buy. Lunch was unappetizing and our plates were dirty. The time at the pyramids felt too brief, and to capture good photos, extra payment for a carriage or camel ride was necessary, but I don't support animal mistreatment. By the end, I felt unwell, possibly from sunstroke, and the focus seemed to be on sales rather than our well-being.
The trip to the pyramids is essential, but the 7-hour drive each way was off-putting. The pyramids themselves are incredible, yet the pace felt rushed. The guide suggested a camel ride for a memorable view, but my daughter encountered issues with the handler demanding more money. Our time at the Sphinx was barely enough for photos, and the visit to the papyrus factory felt more like a high-priced shop. The perfume stop was similar. The buffet meal was quite mediocre, typical of Egypt. Lastly, we had a brief felucca ride on the Nile, but if you opt out, you must wait in the minivan before heading to the museum, which only allowed for 15 minutes of uninformative time with the guide. I don't regret seeing the pyramids, though.
It was a decent experience overall. The journey was lengthy and challenging, but definitely worth it as we explored all the historical sites, saw the pyramids and the sphinx, and even visited the museum and enjoyed a boat ride. However, it requires considerable strength and stamina to complete, making it not suitable for the faint-hearted.
The excursion was beautiful, featuring a modern minivan and two friendly drivers. Our guide Mansur was excellent, addressing all our questions and capturing great photos. The shop stops were relaxed, and it's a rigorous 22-hour tour that’s a must-experience at least once.
The advertisement claimed a maximum of 8 people in the group, but there were actually 13 on our bus, and combined with another group, we had nearly 30 people. The guide, who was an Egyptologist, spent too much time on her phone, frequently repeating the same information. We only had one break on the way back after five hours, resulting in cramps for everyone. The minibus was cramped and uncomfortable. The guide hurried us through each site, not allowing the promised time at each location, leaving us with little opportunity for photos, and we didn’t even have time to enter the pyramid. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend it.
Visiting the Giza pyramids was a remarkable experience for my family and me. We traveled by minibus from Hurghada to Cairo, enjoying a comfortable and spacious ride, which was perfect for our family. Arriving at the pyramids was breathtaking; no photograph can truly capture their grandeur. Being there together as a family allowed us to create cherished memories in such a historic location. The excursion was organized efficiently, with everything running smoothly and stress-free. We had ample time to take photos, explore, and soak in the unique atmosphere. This trip is also great for children since everything was clearly laid out and well-planned. In summary, it was a fantastic day that we will fondly remember. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Cairo, particularly families. The pyramids are a must-see at least once in your lifetime.
The trip was excellent. The driver and the tour guide were consistently helpful. They shared a wealth of information about Egyptian history, showing their knowledge on the subject.
The experience was stunning. Although the journey from Hurghada was lengthy, it was definitely worthwhile. Our guide, Mansur, was incredibly helpful and provided thorough explanations about how things worked in ancient Egypt, making it truly exceptional.
The tour was pleasant, covering all the program highlights. However, the drivers were unfriendly and lacked communication during our travels. Their dissatisfaction with the tip was evident, leading one to leave without saying goodbye. While our Cairo guide was professionally skilled, the pace was overwhelming, especially at the museum, where older members of our group struggled to keep up. It was disappointing that this wasn't considered. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a great group and had a busy, enjoyable day overall.
We had a fantastic day in Cairo. We were picked up from our hotel around 1 am and traveled in a minivan with eight other people. After some delays at the checkpoints, we reached Cairo by 8:30 am. We enjoyed a short cruise on the Nile before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum, which boasts an impressive building and collection. After about two hours of exploring there, we first stopped at a spice shop before heading to lunch. Following lunch, we visited the pyramids and the Sphinx, which were stunning despite the numerous street vendors. To wrap up our day, we visited a perfume shop before the long drive back to the hotel, arriving around midnight. Overall, it was a lengthy day, but it was definitely worthwhile. A note for improvement: our guide, whom I believe was named Hamar, tended to be quite pushy and rushed, often dominating conversations. He also explained everything in English, German, and Arabic, despite our request for English, which made the already long day even more tiring for some group members who understood only German or Arabic.
