The journey to Sataya Reef was quite an adventure. We got picked up promptly from the JAZ Neo Reef Marsa at 5 am, and the drive to Hamata Port took around three hours, as the shuttle stops at other hotels along the way. The trip itself through the desert showcased both good and bad roads, along with glimpses of small towns and military barracks. Upon arrival, we boarded a yacht with approximately 40 other passengers. The crew was exceptionally friendly, and while snorkeling gear and life jackets were included, they were in somewhat worn condition. It's advisable to bring adequate sun protection; some individuals ended up sunburned by the end of the day. The national park entry costs an extra €15 per person, which is about €13 more than what locals pay. This fee, along with an additional service charge, is collected in cash onboard. Some guests opted to pay in dollars. Neoprene suits can be rented for an additional €10 each, although the water was warm enough at the end of April. We enjoyed about 45 minutes of snorkeling with dolphins, amidst around 15 to 20 other yachts parked nearby, leading to a bustling atmosphere in the water. Yet, we were fortunate to encounter some spinner dolphins. Lunch on the boat was included and exceeded our expectations—everyone was well fed. Various drinks like tea, coffee, Sprite, and water were available throughout the trip in small cups. After lunch, we had the option to return to the dolphins or snorkel on the reef; we chose the dolphins, which turned out to be another highlight with fewer people around and more sightings of dolphins. On the return journey, photos and videos from the day were available for purchase, but we declined as we only appeared briefly in a six-second clip. The packages ranged from €30 to €35, depending on negotiations, but we suggest bringing an action camera to capture your memories. After a 2.5-hour boat ride back to Hamata, we took the shuttle for another three hours and arrived at our hotel around 7:30 pm. It was a fantastic trip, albeit a very long day.
The Dolphin House / Sataya Reef Snorkeling Cruise from Marsa Alam was an incredibly beautiful experience. The tour company's organization was excellent; every aspect was thoroughly managed, and the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. I highly recommend it.
We were able to secure the same preferred pricing as the platform by reaching out to the supplier, which turned out to be the best deal available. I truly got to see the dolphins up close, making it feel like I was entering their home. It was a wonderful travel experience.
The snorkeling cruise at Dolphin House Sataya Reef from Marsa Alam offered a tranquil and memorable experience. We swam in clear waters, encountered friendly dolphins, and discovered colorful coral reefs. The crew was attentive and professional, and the freshly prepared lunch was delightful. This is a must for nature enthusiasts seeking a laid-back and enchanting day on the Red Sea.
The experience was excellent. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to a small port, where we boarded a boat heading south for about 40 km. Once we arrived, we enjoyed an extended swim with dolphins before returning to the boat for a delicious meal. We then had the option to dive among the coral reefs or swim with the dolphins again, before heading back to port where the guides returned us to the hotel. I have done similar experiences before, but they often involve crowded boats with little regard for the environment. This outing was quite different, featuring fewer boats and attentive participants. The crew was incredibly friendly and ensured everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this adventure for those looking for a peaceful experience with dolphins without the usual tourist crowd.
It was an excellent day, with everything well organized. We encountered numerous dolphins up close. Thank you for this amazing experience.
It was a lengthy journey on a rough road to reach a comfortable boat. The additional €15 for park fees wasn't clearly stated at booking. The ride to the reef took about 2 hours, and there were three boats carrying up to 50 people each, making it less personal. The lunch provided was good, but being in the water with numerous dolphins swimming playfully and interacting was truly worthwhile.
The journey is lengthy, but you're guaranteed to see dolphins. The crew is friendly, and I appreciate Eslam for helping me experience underwater views.
It was an incredible experience swimming with so many dolphins. Everything went smoothly from start to finish.
I had a fantastic day with the dolphins. The crew was incredibly friendly and attentive. The hotel transfer was seamless as well.
