My wife and I have developed a strong appreciation for this author's work. The tours around Tahoe were breathtaking, and the gold country experiences were both enjoyable and informative. We particularly love how she integrates the history of these incredible locations into her California tours. The walking tour of Old Sacramento truly brings the area to life. Discovering Sacramento's historical significance in California's early days and during the gold rush was a delightful experience as we walked along the wooden boardwalks and cobblestone streets. It's an excellent way to explore the revitalized Old Town district with its numerous museums, shops, and restaurants. Highly recommended.
This is the perfect way to explore Old Sacramento while setting your own pace. The guide is very knowledgeable, engaging, and easy to understand. I highly recommend it.
The tour was not only informative but also provided clear directions. The audio was excellent, and the stories were engaging with fun facts. I highly recommend it.
Having used this app for a self-guided audio tour for the first time, I will definitely use it again for future travels. I really enjoyed the experience; the information provided was informative, the tour guide was impressive, and the app itself was outstanding.
I encountered some initial issues with the Voicemap app. Although I downloaded the tour in advance, it prompted me to download it again when I arrived at the starting point, and the download froze twice, delaying my start. However, once I began, I truly enjoyed the experience. It felt like a scavenger hunt—just follow the prompts, walk in the right direction, and discover the landmarks. I was amazed that all the sights were just as the narrator described. I did get a bit lost a couple of times, but stopping to read the written narrative helped me get back on track. The tour was delightful, allowing me to pause and explore several shops along the route. It also reminded me of California's history that I had forgotten, specifically about the gold rush and railroad. I recommend ensuring your phone is fully charged, as Voicemap drained a lot of battery on my Android. Towards the end of the tour, I was worried my battery might die before I finished. Overall, I was pleased and felt that this self-guided tour was an excellent way to explore Old Sacramento at my own pace.
The app for the Old Sacramento tour is a scam. I encountered numerous confusing steps to download it, and they never worked. The only help was an email response that was sarcastic, telling me to follow their unclear instructions, as if I was the only one having issues.
This was an excellent experience. The technology functioned perfectly, and I gained a lot of knowledge about Old Sacramento. The narrative was informative, and I'm really pleased we found this tour.
The tour was fantastic, but signing up was quite complicated. While it's not a scam, the process involves filling out a form, creating an account, and dealing with multiple confirmation numbers, which was confusing, especially at night. We almost gave up. Reducing these hurdles would be beneficial. On the plus side, the guide was knowledgeable and shared engaging stories, keeping a good pace with us. Even when we strayed from the route, the voice promptly guided us back. I would rate it higher if the initial setup had been smoother.
The tour was quite entertaining, although it required a fair bit of walking in a confined area as we navigated through the neighborhood. It felt a bit lengthy for our liking and could use some updates; for instance, there was a mention of a Ferris wheel that no longer exists.
