The journey begins with an invigorating hike through lush montane forests rich in biodiversity, culminating in stunning views of the crater lake nestled within the caldera, perfect for memorable photographs and a sense of achievement. 3Together with the professional local guide, you will visit the preserves of Rwandese culture before, and after the war. Spare an hour and learn a traditional skill or two that will enrich your hobbies - basket weaving, brewing and different forms of traditional medicine. Discover Rwandese cuisine. Have a bit of moment with the gorillas and try a short gorilla trek. Enjoy stories as you walk around Musanze caves and get a lake view as people enjoy and canoe. Learn interesting activities at Muko/Nkotsi village such as basket-weaving, brew (and yeah okay, drink), banana beer village walks, bee keeping, drumming lessons and traditional medicine. Experience Rwandese cultural activities organised by hands of Hope and share in their culture.

Embark on a journey unlike any other and hike deep into Rwanda’s volcanic highlands to meet the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas. This once-in-a-lifetime experience begins with an early departure from Kigali, winding through breathtaking scenery here in the Land of a Thousand Hills as you arrive at Volcanoes National Park headquarters. Led by expert trackers and a park guide, you’ll trek into the mystical Virunga Mountains, where the gorillas call home. You will spend an hour observing these critically endangered mountain gorillas just a few meters away from them. Mountain gorillas share a remarkable 97% DNA match to humans. After your unforgettable encounter, we will provide you with curated options for how to spend the next few hours before returning to Kigali. For those seeking deeper immersion, overnight extensions are available.
Experience the spectacular beauty of rural Rwanda. This tour begins from Musanze. We travel together off the tourist path to Vunga Village in Nyabihu District. In Vunga, guests will be welcomed by local villagers and then proceed to hike through the beautiful foothills of Binana Mountain. Your efforts will be rewarded when we reach the stunning waterfalls of the Mukungwa River. Here guests will have plenty of time to explore this unique environment - whether that means climbing and playing in the waterfalls or simply taking a moment to relax, eat lunch, and take in the scenery. After basking in the waterfalls we hike back to the village. Before returning to Musanze, guests have the chance to cross the local suspension bridge for exceptional views of Rwanda's 1000 hills. This is a private tour catered to guest interests with a duration of 6-8 hours. Guests will need sturdy hiking shoes or rain boots, a rain jacket, and their water and lunch for the day. Local snacks will be provided.
You’ll embark on an unforgettable trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park, where you’ll come face-to-face with the golden monkeys in their natural habitat.
It is an amazing and very adventurous experience, as you will see how the Rwandese live in their villages and homes and see the magnificent view of five beautiful volcanoes. This short walk on foot takes roughly 3 hours and the longer one takes around 5 hours or more depending on guests’ preference or their physical fitness and it ends at the foot of Bisoke volcano and have a lunch there after a short massage by the staff of volcanoes Resto-Bar.
