Riding Segways is an exhilarating experience. After a brief 10-minute training, it took just 5 minutes to get the hang of it. Once comfortable, I found myself eager to speed up. The majority of the Segway tour goes through forested areas rather than the urban environment. While the ride through the woods was enjoyable, I had anticipated experiencing more of the city.
Jenny was our guide, and she demonstrated great knowledge and attentiveness throughout our tour. Although we couldn't visit Blacks Island due to a folk festival, Jenny quickly adapted and took us to other interesting locations.
I had a fantastic and informative tour. I had plans to visit the river later, but it turned out we got to cross it on the pedestrian bridge. Julie was an excellent guide, providing us with a wealth of information about the city and its history. We gained a lot of knowledge and enjoyed some great photo opportunities. After I snapped a picture of a family at the capitol, they kindly offered to take a photo of the three of us together, resulting in a lovely shot with Julie, our guide.
We reside in Chesapeake and make it a point to do a Segway tour with this company every couple of years. It’s a favorite activity for visitors. Our sons, aged 35 and 32, were visiting from Mississippi, and it was their first time in Richmond and on a Segway. They really enjoyed it. I also tried the two-hour tour for the first time and loved it. Our guide, Julie, was exceptional—very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm. We plan to return with our 16-year-old grandson in the summer.
