Two-hour walking tour exploring haunted sites on Franklin Street, including the Jefferson Hotel and Linden Row Inn.
This two-hour walking tour takes you through the atmospheric Franklin Street in Richmond, known for its historical landmarks and ghostly tales. You’ll visit notable sites like the Jefferson Hotel, Linden Row Inn, and other haunted locations that reflect the city's westward expansion, showcasing both architectural beauty and eerie history.
The tour provides an engaging commentary on local folklore and the spirits said to linger in these historic places. Comfortable shoes are recommended as the tour involves walking on uneven surfaces, and it's an evening tour, so it can get chilly after dark.
Reviews
This tour was supposed to last 75 to 90 minutes, but it only lasted about an hour. We basically walked around the block. There were a few interesting historical facts, but overall, it was quite dull. I believe the other tours from this company would have been more enjoyable. I regret not choosing a different one.
Marcia, our guide, was captivating as she escorted us through a neighborhood showcasing stunning architecture and eerie historical narratives. I strongly recommend this for those interested in architecture and ghost stories.
The ghost tour in Franklin was quite enjoyable and provided us with fascinating historical insights about the city, especially regarding the locations we visited. I was surprised to learn about Edgar Allen Poe's connections to Richmond. Our guide was engaging and well-informed, and unlike what someone else mentioned, our tour did indeed last the full 90 minutes as promised.
We had an excellent tour of downtown Richmond. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the city's history and was friendly as well as engaging to listen to. We truly appreciated the experience.
The guide was fantastic, showcasing a lot of enthusiasm and passion in her storytelling. The walk around Richmond, filled with “ghost stories,” was enjoyable.
Z was enjoyable, but the group size was excessive. It would be better to divide such large parties. Ghost tours are far more effective with fewer participants for a more intimate experience.
The walking tour was enjoyable, filled with fascinating history. Leigh and Chris were friendly and engaging. I would have appreciated a bit more of a spooky element, though we discussed the John Marshall Hotel without actually visiting it.
