Reviews
This tour was exceptional. We've participated in two of their tours and have loved the combination of history and ghost stories. Without a doubt, these are the finest haunted tours in Richmond. Typically, we reserve ghost tours for our vacations, but we chose to explore Haunts of Richmond and were very pleased with our decision. I highly recommend it!
The tour guide displayed extensive knowledge of history and was an excellent storyteller. It was an enjoyable experience that would be suitable for families or just about anyone.
This tour offered a fantastic blend of history and ghost tales. I highly recommend it to those able to manage the uphill walks. I did wish our guide had paused more frequently to allow for breaks. She was very knowledgeable and an engaging storyteller, even taking extra time at Monumental Church for my book club, which had recently read about the theater fire there. I would gladly take this tour again or explore any of the Haunts of Richmond tours.
This tour is not about experiencing actual hauntings; it's focused on sharing ghost stories. If you're looking to briskly walk through Richmond at night while listening to tales of the supernatural, then this tour is suitable for you.
Our expectations for this tour were quite high since we enjoy ghost tours, especially in such a historically rich city. Unfortunately, our female guide struggled to present information coherently at each location. She openly admitted to having difficulty recalling dates due to severe dyslexia, which negatively impacted the historical context of her stories. She seldom mentioned names related to her anecdotes, even acknowledging that she forgot to write down important dates and numbers, suggesting we might see her as unprofessional—and she was correct. With nearly 40 participants in the group, she failed to engage effectively. The ghost stories lacked historical depth and were neither compelling nor believable. At one point, she stopped to share a tale on a busy downtown street, making it hard to hear her clearly. Overall, our $20 felt wasted, and I would recommend avoiding this tour to prevent significant disappointment.
This was our first tour, and we had a fantastic time! The walking caught us off guard, but that was on us. The presentation was excellent and very entertaining. We will certainly book another tour.
The Haunts of Richmond is essential for families. Our guide, Martha, expertly blended historical facts with ghost tales. It was enjoyable to be outside on a walking tour with the family. We had a great time!
I would definitely recommend this experience. It offered an enjoyable mix of historical insights and ghost tales. Chris and Beth were both very knowledgeable and kept us entertained throughout.
Martha, our tour guide, was both knowledgeable and friendly. She maintained a good pace throughout the tour and adapted it to fit the interests and questions of our group.
The tour was highly informative. Our guide Martha was an excellent storyteller, sharing extensive knowledge about the history of Richmond and its reported hauntings.
