This tour was fantastic! Even if you're not a history enthusiast like I am, there's plenty to appreciate in this brief but informative exploration of the American Tobacco campus and key attractions in downtown Durham. The guide is a knowledgeable local historian who truly values the city's vibrant culture and history.
The tour was decent, but it felt like it should have lasted longer. Although our guide Jackson was knowledgeable about the history, he wasn't as engaging as other guides we've encountered, both locally and abroad. Speaking a bit more slowly would have enhanced our experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed this one-hour tour of Durham. Andrew, our guide, was full of knowledge and shared many interesting facts about the area. I highly recommend this experience, as it’s well worth the cost. Just be aware that you need to meet him near the water tower in the complex square; we had some difficulty locating him, but he called us, and we were able to connect.

Today, we joined a tour led by Andrew, whose deep knowledge and charisma made for an engaging experience. He shared a wealth of historical insights and intriguing anecdotes about various people and buildings. I was particularly struck by his account of Anna Julia Cooper, a remarkable woman who overcame slavery to earn a PhD and became a celebrated educator, often referred to as the "Mother of Black Feminism." Thank you, Andrew, for a wonderful tour.
