Saul was an exceptional guide who brought a telescope that allowed us to capture stunning images of various animals. He also shared a wealth of information about them. We encountered monkeys, sloths, frogs, lizards, spiders, birds, and more; the wildlife was truly amazing. Both my wife and I had a wonderful experience. One thing to keep in mind is that the park can be quite crowded. Even though we opted for the earliest 7am time slot, certain spots remained busy. However, I hear that it's much worse during later morning or afternoon slots. It wasn't consistently crowded like a busy street in Las Vegas; there were moments of solitude. At times, groups would gather around guides who spotted interesting animals, leading to busier areas, particularly at the park entrance. As we moved deeper into the park, the crowds dispersed a bit. We didn’t spend time at the beach, but it seemed pleasant. Overall, the incredible animals and our fantastic guide Saul made this a highly recommended experience.
The park is stunning with a variety of species, and having a guide enhances the experience. It's important to be cautious of parking scams at Manuel Antonio Park. Just before the entrance, individuals in vests may direct you to stop, claiming the parking is full. These people are not official staff; they aim to make you park farther away at a higher cost. The actual parking lot is conveniently located beside the entrance and charges around 5,000 colones. My advice is to keep driving past them. If you do stop, just mention you're heading to a nearby hotel like Espadilla or Villa Bosque, and they'll likely let you through.
Our experience with Mop was fantastic. With 26 years of experience, he really made the tour special. We spotted many animals that we likely would have missed otherwise. Mop’s connections with other guides showed his dedication to ensuring everyone had a good experience. Traveling with our 4 and 5-year-olds meant we took things at a slower pace, but Mop adjusted wonderfully, making it enjoyable for the kids. I highly recommend this tour!
It was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend hiring a guide. Without one, you might miss out on so much. Mop had an impressive amount of knowledge to share.
The tour of Manuel Antonio National Park was incredible. Our guide Mob was exceptional and highlighted numerous wildlife, including sloths and monkeys. We highly recommend this experience—Pura Vida.
If you're considering whether to hire a guide for Manuel Antonio Park, stop hesitating. Our guide, Mop, was incredibly knowledgeable and had an extraordinary eye for detail—without him, we would have missed nearly everything. I highly recommend booking with Mop.
I had an incredible time with Saul in Manuel Antonio. His knowledge of the park's flora and fauna was impressive. He showed us bats, spiders, various birds, many sloths, and several types of monkeys. We wrapped up our day at the beach, which was delightful. Additionally, the company was very attentive to our inquiries and provided all the necessary information to help us avoid scams and find the tour location.
We arrived early for our tickets since the animals are livelier in the morning and the heat is more manageable. It was definitely worth it. With Mop’s keen eyesight and telescope, we had some fantastic sightings. Afterwards, we enjoyed our time at the beach in the reserve, and I recommend bringing swimming gear for that. The park operates very professionally and upholds strong ethical standards.
Manuel Antonio National Park is an essential stop on any trip to Costa Rica. The blend of pristine beaches, dense jungle, and amazing wildlife all in a single location is unparalleled. Our guide, Mop, was the standout of the experience. He was very friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, making the tour feel vibrant. He pointed out wildlife that we would have missed and provided fascinating details about the ecosystem. He truly exceeded our expectations.
Having a guide truly enhanced our experience. We gained a lot of knowledge about the wildlife and the National Park. Karen was excellent with our young kids, aged 6 and 4. Our group consisted of 13 people, and it was evident that Karen cherished the park and loved sharing it with us.
