Heritage walks, museum days, temple complexes, and the kind of guides who explain why a place matters rather than reciting dates. The cultural side of Puno, paced for actual seeing.
Step back in time on this half-day adventure to Sillustani, just 45km from Puno. You’ll explore the ancient chullpas, towering funerary towers built by the Kolla and Inca cultures. As you walk through this archaeological site, you’ll learn about the fascinating rituals and construction techniques that made these structures so impressive. Along the way, you’ll also have a chance to visit rural homes, where you can chat with locals and get a true feel for the area’s culture. The tour ends with stunning views of Lake Umayo before returning to Puno. In just 4 hours, you’ll experience the perfect mix of history, nature, and local life. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable journey—book now and step into a world of ancient wonders and living traditions!
Most visitors see the Uros floating islands from a tour boat and move on. This experience puts you on the islands themselves, working alongside the families who've built and rebuilt their homes on layers of totora reed for generations. You'll cut fresh reeds from the lake and help lay them down — the same maintenance routine the Uros follow every couple of weeks to keep their islands from sinking. There's also a chance to set up fishing nets along the shore using traditional methods, and if you'd like, you can try on traditional Uro clothing for a while. Between activities, the community opens up about their daily craft work. You'll watch them weave textiles and shape intricate jewelry, and they're happy to walk you through the process. Waterfowl come and go across the lake the whole time, so there's always something happening around you — part of what makes the islands feel less like a destination and more like someone's living, working home.
By taking the speedboat tour, passengers have more time on the islands, so you can spend more time exploring the place, and learning about our culture, heritage and history.
Experience a 2-day, 1-night adventure from Puno to Arequipa, crossing the imposing Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world. Enjoy spectacular landscapes with snow-capped mountains, volcanoes and Andean fauna such as vicuñas, alpacas and llamas. Watch the majestic flight of the Andean condor, symbol of the Andes, and relax in the hot springs of Chivay (38oC), ideal for revitalizing body and mind. Explore Andean villages full of history and tradition, where culture and nature merge. To complete the experience, enjoy a dinner show with typical dances, and end the trip in the beautiful city of Arequipa, the White City, with its impressive colonial architecture. An unforgettable adventure that will connect you with the essence of the Peruvian highlands!
This is a culture‑first, story‑rich walk designed for Puno’s altitude and rhythm. We connect architecture, museum pieces, viewpoints, markets, and devotion into one clear narrative—so carvings on the Cathedral make sense at the museum, the hilltop view reframes the city below, and the market’s rituals illuminate the Candelaria story. It’s intimate and unhurried: time for photos, questions, and authentic encounters (always respectful of worship and vendors). Expect real Puno—its art, faith, and everyday life—in one memorable walk.
