Your first destination is Bhigwan, a small village situated approximately 60 miles (110 km) from Pune, with a travel time of about two hours. During the winter season, migratory birds gather at the expansive Yashwant Sagar reservoir, which serves as the backwaters for the Ujain Dam, located near Bhigwan. With your guide and private group, you will discover an ideal spot for bird-watching. Notable bird species you may encounter include ruddy shelducks, a large stork, black drongos, eurasian spoonbills, red-naped ibises, pratincoles, and spotted owlets. • After bird-watching, you will visit the hilltop location of Bhuleshwar, the renowned temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Initially known as Mangalgadh, this temple was constructed in the 13th century and features exquisite carvings adorning its walls, enhancing its stone architecture. Bhuleshwar holds historical importance as it is the site where Devi Parvati danced for Lord Shiva, who later took her to Kailas for their marriage. Your guide will share more about this story. On your journey back to Pune, there will be a stop at a traditional cane sugar factory. You may also request stops for food, souvenirs, or other needs along the way.
