I have a passion for night hikes, so I was excited about this adventure. Perhaps it's my British roots, but I enjoy feeling like an explorer. The weather was perfect for it, as the rain throughout the afternoon kept mosquitoes at bay. My guide Ayder met me right on time outside a restaurant that offered excellent food. We set off in my four-wheel drive, and after a brief journey along dirt roads, we reached our starting point. The rain had created a fun atmosphere as we splashed through a creek to begin. The forest was thick but manageable, and soon Ayder was spotting all kinds of fascinating insects, while I struggled to find anything. The variety of spiders, insects, frogs, and lizards was impressive. Ayder was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, never making me feel rushed, making it a truly enjoyable experience.
We arranged for a nighttime tour, and Tico paired us with Kevin, who speaks French. It was an incredible experience! We spotted various species, including frogs, a snake, two sloths, and the highlight—a stunning Ocelot! This unexpected encounter surpassed our imagination. A big commendation to the skilled and professional team!
The tour got canceled the night before, so we had no experience. While the refund process was smooth, we couldn't take advantage of the rescheduled date due to our limited time.
I joined the English tour led by Sean, and we explored numerous interesting sights. He was knowledgeable and addressed all our questions. We observed many fascinating sights during the night.
Josh, our guide, was outstanding. We encountered numerous frogs, a snake, various insects, sloths, monkeys, and kinkajous. He provided extensive knowledge about the plants and wildlife and was enthusiastic about finding more. I highly recommend this tour.
This excursion was incredibly enjoyable. Our group of nine, ranging in age from 10 to mid-fifties, all had a great time. We encountered spiders, toads, insects, and even a snake. Our guide Leo was very knowledgeable and patiently shared extensive information about each creature we discovered. This night will be a lasting memory.
This tour was exceptional, and our guide was fantastic. We encountered a variety of wildlife, including spiders, snakes, frogs, and mammals. I appreciated the experience of hiking at night, observing potentially dangerous animals while feeling secure under Sean's knowledgeable guidance.
This was an amazing experience for our family. Our guide, Leo, was exceptional, and everyone enjoyed it immensely. We are two adults and our four children aged 10, 12, 15, and 17. I highly recommend it!
Encountered a variety of wildlife, including insects, possums, and a snake.
The Night Walk in Puerto Jiménez ended up being quite disappointing. The tour didn't provide good value for the cost, which felt excessive for what we experienced. Our guide seemed disengaged and didn’t actively seek out animals or create a stimulating experience, leading us to find about half of the wildlife ourselves. He showed little concern for the group’s wellbeing, especially during the challenging river crossing, where support was lacking, and thankfully, participants assisted one another. All in all, I cannot recommend this tour, especially since a similar experience was offered at our hotel for a fraction of the price. On the upside, we were able to easily and quickly rebook after initially booking in the wrong place, which was a positive aspect, albeit the only one.
