Guided by a certified local expert, the itinerary focuses on hidden jungle trails where various wildlife can be observed, including tapirs, sloths, monkeys, toucans, and scarlet macaws.

It's advisable to prepare for changing weather conditions, so bringing a rain jacket and sturdy footwear is recommended.

Our overnight stay at Sirena Station with Corcovado Wild Tours was incredible. Ale, our guide, was exceptional—her enthusiasm and extensive knowledge about the wildlife and plants were impressive. She skillfully arranged our walks to steer clear of crowds, both on the trails and at mealtime. It was a remarkable experience that Ale made truly unforgettable.
Our main goal in visiting Puerto Jimenez was to explore Corcovado, an exceptionally diverse wildlife region. While we stayed at a larger resort, we wanted to support local businesses, so we found Corcovado Wild near the public pier, which made logistics easy. Due to limited time, we chose a day tour to Sirena instead of an overnight stay. We opted for a private tour, which included transportation between our resort and the pier. The tour exceeded our expectations! Our guide Luis, whom we recognized from a previous tour, made the experience even better with his extensive knowledge and keen eye for spotting wildlife. We started with a 1.5-hour boat ride alongside other groups, enjoying a beautiful sunrise and spotting dolphins and cocos boobies. A highlight was encountering a humpback whale on our return journey. Once in the park, we were amazed by the variety of birds, monkeys, and even a caiman. The absolute highlight was a Baird's tapir that walked right in front of us on the beach. Corcovado has visitor limits to reduce overcrowding, so while there were other participants on our tour, it never felt cramped. We managed several miles of walking and saw a lot, but if time allows, an overnight stay would be ideal to witness wildlife during the more active evening and morning hours. We plan to return for this. Initially, I had some reservations about Corcovado Wild being a smaller operation, but after experiencing multiple tours with them, I wholeheartedly endorse Jairo and his team for their personalized service.
The entire experience was seamless and adaptable. Our guide, Sagri, was a true joy and incredibly knowledgeable. We encountered a vast variety of wildlife. The dorms at La Sirena are quite basic but this adds to the adventure. Pamper yourself with some comfort the following night.
It was a wonderful day spent in nature, and Diego, our guide, was exceptional. Thank you very much.
Jairo, our guide, was fantastic, and the entire trip was exceptional. We encountered incredible wildlife and received great care throughout. I highly recommend this company, which also coordinated a snorkeling excursion for us later in the week.
I haven't taken the tour yet because I initially booked for the wrong date. However, the tour company was very accommodating and managed to reschedule for us at the last minute. Customer service has been excellent so far.
The national park is quite lovely; however, the promised limit of a "small group of maximum 6 people" was not honored as our group included 9 participants. This increase in the number of visitors each day led to significant congestion, particularly at the entrance, and we often had to share our animal sightings with 2 to 3 other groups at the same time.
I had a tour to Sirena in Corcovado that had some enjoyable moments, particularly with the wildlife we encountered, making it memorable. However, at $124 including taxes, I felt let down by its organization and overall value. The itinerary stated that the wildlife walk would run until about 11:30 am, but we were taken to lunch at 10:45 am. This felt hurried to avoid waiting in line, yet we still ended up waiting 45 minutes until noon for the boat return. This significantly cut into our time for observing animals, which was the main reason I booked the tour. The tour also promoted a scenic boat ride with chances to see dolphins and turtles, but in reality, the boat sped along without stopping, making it difficult to spot any wildlife. While the nature itself is stunning, I can't shake the feeling that the experience doesn't match the high price tag.
This was a fantastic nature adventure. We started with a sunrise boat ride to the park, followed by two hikes before and after enjoying lunch featuring local cuisine. Our tour guide provided great insights and captured wonderful photos and videos. He helped us spot various bird species and other wildlife. The combined length of the hikes was around 10 miles, which was manageable. I highly recommend this excursion, especially since booking through Trip Advisor was more cost-effective than going through our hotel.
Jairo, who oversees the office, was very helpful and responsive in arranging our hike upon our arrival. Our guide Melvin was instrumental in navigating the Ranger station procedures and showed impressive knowledge of the park's wildlife, even pointing out tapirs in three different spots. His remarkable hearing allowed him to spot an anteater 50 meters away by recognizing the sound of branches breaking as it moved. Although the day starts early, it is definitely worthwhile.
