Forty-eight hours in Corcovado National Park with guided trekking, overnight accommodation, and wildlife viewing from Puerto Jiménez.
This two-day, one-night adventure takes you deep into Corcovado National Park, often described as the Amazon of Costa Rica. Given its biodiversity, a single day is rarely sufficient to appreciate all it has to offer. Expect guided treks that unveil the rich wildlife and foliage unique to the area.
Starting from Puerto Jiménez, the experience includes overnight lodging within or near the park. Bring comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for variable weather. The park is a significant draw for nature enthusiasts, so don't forget your binoculars for birdwatching and spotting the diverse fauna that inhabits this remarkable ecosystem.

It was quite an experience. We encountered numerous animals, and our guide Jenkins was knowledgeable, although he moved at a brisk pace.
I don't typically write reviews due to my usual laziness, but our guide Ayder truly deserves recognition for his outstanding efforts. Right from the start, he was highly engaged and provided extensive information about the wildlife and plants. While seeing animals often requires some luck, we were fortunate, and Ayder's expertise enhanced our experience significantly. We spotted various monkey species, a tapir, coatis, a crocodile, an anteater, snakes, frogs, and numerous unique birds like eagles. At one point, he even directed other guides to the animals' locations, effectively guiding the guides. His keen observation skills shone through when he quickly identified a tiny frog that would have easily gone unnoticed, even in the night. It was truly remarkable. Moreover, Ayder's friendly and humorous demeanor showcased his passion for his work. If you have the opportunity to join a tour with Ayder, take it. It's absolutely worth it.
Our time in Corcovado was fantastic. Erick, our guide, was dedicated to ensuring we had the best experience and shared a wealth of knowledge about the park's flora and fauna. We had incredible animal sightings, and spotting a tapir was particularly memorable. The food at the station was excellent, and the sanitary facilities were well-maintained.
This experience was fantastic. Staying overnight allowed us to enjoy two hikes each day, alongside the short trek to the ranger station. We encountered more wildlife and diversity than in La Fortuna, Monteverde, or Dominical. Our guide, Angel, was knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and skilled at locating hidden animals. His expertise greatly enhanced our experience, helping us appreciate the variety of plants and animals. We highly recommend this tour as it was a highlight of our trip. A headlamp or flashlight is useful for early hikes, and light sleepers might prefer earplugs for the dorm. Don't forget to bring a towel for showering.
We encountered an array of animals including tapirs, sloths, crocodiles, spider monkeys, and macaws. Our guide Hayder truly enhanced our experience with his endless knowledge about wildlife and his impressive ability to mimic various animal sounds. Over the two days, he made our stay feel as packed as a full week. During nighttime, as a genuine ranger, he led us through muddy paths, which really captured the essence of the adventure. Thank you for the unforgettable experience!
We encountered numerous animals during our trip. Our guide, Erick, excelled at locating them and successfully kept us away from larger crowds.
An overnight tour to the national park is something I would strongly suggest. It’s truly a unique experience. However, I found my tour with this company a bit disjointed, as I was switched between different boats and guides with minimal information provided. The guide at the park was friendly and well-informed, yet his level of engagement with the group was rather average.
The wildlife encounters were truly remarkable, and our guide Ronald was friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable. The accommodations were simple yet clean, and everyone we met was welcoming. They even offered vegan meals. Experiencing Corcovado National Park was unforgettable, and I highly recommend it. The focus on environmental and animal welfare was evident, making the extensive journey worthwhile.
We took an overnight trip to Corcovado National Park from Puerto Jimenez. The organization was solid, and the boats were reliable, though the waves made for an adventurous ride. The skilled drivers handled it well. Our guide was a nice freelancer with a wealth of experience, showing a genuine interest in nature, which we appreciated. Our group comprised six people, a suitable maximum. Be sure to pack water shoes.
Our two-day tour with Alejandra was fantastic. She demonstrated a deep respect for nature and wildlife, guiding us through the national park where we encountered an astonishing variety of impressive animals. Spending a night there added to the overall experience.
