Five-and-a-half hours by private transport — scenic views of Río Simpson, a visit to Virgin Waterfall, and free time in Coyhaique for local crafts and cuisine.
This 5.5-hour shore excursion offers a blend of Patagonia’s natural scenery and cultural insights. Start with a visit to Los Coipos Lagoon before journeying along Route 240, part of the Carretera Austral, next to Río Simpson and through Río Simpson National Park.
You'll stop at the Virgin Waterfall for photos, and upon reaching Coyhaique, the regional capital, enjoy free time to explore its local crafts and sample Chilean cuisine. A panoramic view at Marchant Viewpoint showcases the city and its natural backdrop. On your return, the tour includes a stop in Puerto Aysén to see the iconic suspension bridge and enjoy views of the Aysén River.

We had a fantastic time with Angi as our guide. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and provided many intriguing insights throughout the tour. Her enthusiasm for the region and its history brought everything to life. Angi maintained a friendly atmosphere, ensuring everyone felt included and comfortable. The tour was well-structured, informative, and timed perfectly. Angi readily addressed all our inquiries and revealed hidden gems we wouldn't have found by ourselves. If you're seeking a remarkable and enjoyable experience, I strongly recommend choosing Coyhaique Tour Shore Excursion. You will not regret it.
Consider whether Esra is prepared for extended time in the vehicle. It's a remote location in Chile during a ship stop. The guide was nice but seemed inexperienced and tried hard to ensure everything went smoothly. I felt it was pricey for what was offered, though the barbecue was a highlight.
This tour was merely satisfactory. It didn't match the presentation on the website. Although it was Christmas Day, the lovely farm promised for berry picking was not accessible. We missed the chance to explore the farm. The guide seemed inexperienced and relied heavily on a script. I recommend opting for ePatagonia or a cruise excursion instead, as other passengers appeared to have a far superior experience.
The journey itself was more enjoyable than the destination. There wasn't much of interest in Cohayque. However, the natural scenery along the way was beautiful. The grilled lamb was excellent, and the service was great. Our guide Amira was friendly and knowledgeable.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The views were breathtaking, and our guide, Jonathan, showed great enthusiasm for both the nature and the people of Patagonia. The experience was enhanced by a delicious BBQ lamb meal with potatoes and salad, sourced from the family farm we visited.
The ride was quite lengthy, but it offered numerous stunning views, including breathtaking rivers and waterfalls. The guide was both knowledgeable and enjoyable to be around.
Jonathan, our guide, expressed his passion for the Chacabuco region, and we were treated to stunning views. The experience was complemented by a delightful traditional meal.
This is a solid tour for anyone with just 6-8 hours in port, showcasing key highlights. Considering the distance to attractions, it suits first-time visitors who aren’t looking for a specific activity. However, it could have been improved if our guide offered more insights about the locations we visited instead of sharing personal stories.
The bus was quite packed, leaving little room for the guide to sit. While the lunch was enjoyable, the visited sites were not particularly impressive.
The trip was exceptionally well organized and entertainingly led by our guide, Daniel, who provided excellent descriptions of the various destinations. The rustic lunch at the farm was delightful.
