The 5 in 1 tour was fantastic for our family of nine, aged 5 to 64. Our guide, Jesus from Sergio's, reached out four days before our trip to clarify the time difference with our ship. He confirmed the meeting point and assured our return to the ship an hour early. We were picked up by our driver Ricardo and Jesus in a luxurious, comfortable, air-conditioned bus. During the tour, we saw flamingos, visited a salt flat, enjoyed a short boat ride to a fresh water spring, explored raccoons, Mayan ruins, and ended at Sergio's Beach House. At the beach house, we enjoyed an endless buffet of homemade dishes prepared by Jesus's grandmother and had access to an open drink area. There was a lovely swimming pool, games set up, beach front lounge chairs, and a covered pavilion with tables for dining. The restroom facilities were clean and convenient. Massages were available for a reasonable $30, which seemed to be worth it for those who opted in. We were returned to the port exactly one hour before our cruise departure. Our family highly recommends this tour and the company.
This tour is a solid choice for those arriving at the cruise port, but be cautious about the high exchange rate at the beach house. Uva was an excellent guide, and the itinerary allows for a good mix of natural and historical attractions without spending the whole day in transit. It was great to get an early swim before the crowds showed up, and the Mayan marketplace ruins offered a nice glimpse into ancient life. The salt ponds were interesting, and we even brought back some pink salt. Although the beach house had a nice setup, it lacks a real beach. The food and drinks were enjoyable but priced as if we were at the cruise ship, with $12 margaritas and $20 taco plates. I opted out of the all-inclusive option and found the prices reasonable until I noticed an additional 18% charge on the exchange rate at checkout for credit card payments. They hadn't posted any exchange rates, which was surprising given the pricing of food and drink. Had I been informed, I would have chosen to pay in cash. Just a heads-up for future visitors.
I had a fantastic time on Sergio’s Five in One tour in Progreso, Mexico. From beginning to end, the organization was flawless and enjoyable. The tour provided a wealth of information about the local culture, history, and hidden attractions that I would have missed on my own. The food was incredibly tasty, showcasing authentic flavors that enhanced the overall experience. The bus was clean and very comfortable, making the transitions between locations smooth and enjoyable. The tour guides were a highlight, being friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They ensured everyone felt involved and kept the atmosphere lively throughout. After this experience, I’ve developed an even deeper appreciation for Mexico. If you're in Progreso, this tour is essential. I highly recommend it.
Jesus provided an excellent experience for us during our trip. He was very patient with our group of five kids, aged 3, 5, 16, 20, and 22. The outing was not only educational but also a refreshing change from just lounging on the beach all day. I would definitely recommend it.
It felt completely safe, and it was definitely worth the money spent. We managed to visit numerous locations in just one day. The beach house experience at the end, featuring unlimited food and drinks, was the highlight.
Jesus proved to be an excellent guide and a careful, patient driver throughout our group’s journey. After an exciting day exploring the salt flats and Mayan ruins, the beach house provided the perfect spot to unwind. The bartender was very welcoming and served up some tasty margaritas and shots. The pool and restrooms were kept clean, making us feel secure and relaxed. The tacos and accompaniments were hearty and truly flavorful. I strongly suggest taking part in this tour and backing this fantastic family-run venture.
The tour was wonderful. Jesus was a fantastic host, and our family had a great time throughout the morning. I would recommend this experience to anyone. Since we were in town, they arranged to pick us up on the road instead of at the cruise ships. Just a tip: if the booking indicates a 9am start time, that's in cruise time; local time is 7am, so be aware of when it actually begins.
Sergio’s 5-in-1 tour was truly amazing! We had a fantastic experience with Jesus and his family.
Not worth it. The experience was lacking, and cleanliness was an issue. The bus's bathroom was out of order, forcing us to hold it. The life jackets were filthy and damaged. The cenotes were underwhelming, especially when compared to the more appealing ones in Florida. The salt flats also fell short of expectations, with better options available in Utah, Nevada, and California. Wildlife sightings were limited to raccoons, birds, bats, and fish. The Mayan ruins were neglected and small, disappointing in comparison to others. Food at Sergio's beach house was unsatisfactory. Overall, we found Progreso to be quite dirty, unexciting, and filled with locals asking for tips. It would be better to explore these attractions from Cancun or Cozumel. I suggest avoiding Progreso altogether.
This was an all-encompassing experience from beginning to end. The tour guide was both knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone involved was welcoming and kind, and the food and drinks perfectly complemented the experience. Relaxing at the beach club was the highlight.
