Our tour with Thabang was fantastic; he was both friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend this insightful historical experience. Despite experiencing storms and hail, the time we spent with Thabang created lasting memories for my son and me during our short visit to South Africa.
Thabang, our guide for the Soweto tour, was exceptional. Growing up in the area and speaking seven languages, he shared his deep passion for the community’s past, present, and future with us. We had a wonderful day and plan to return with our children to share this experience.
The Soweto experience is incredibly enlightening, thanks to our guide Thabang, who promptly picked us up from our hotel. Having grown up in Soweto, he made us feel secure and cared for. He took us through various townships, showcasing the rich, middle-class, and impoverished areas. In the poor district, we toured with Hope, a local resident, who shared the daily struggles they face, including insufficient access to water, electricity, and employment. We also visited a kindergarten, where the children welcomed us with songs, hugs, and smiles, radiating love and joy despite their hardships. Additionally, we visited the Mandela House and Pieterson Museum. Thabang proved to be a deep well of knowledge and dedicates time to supporting township residents with sanitary products for women. This tour is not merely about sightseeing; it offers a profound insight into the daily realities of life in Soweto. For anyone seeking a profound understanding of Soweto, I highly recommend hiring Motley Tours and Travels. They genuinely care for the community, and your choice to work with them also aids those in need within the township. Thank you, Thabang, for your time and your evident passion for Soweto.
This experience was truly an eye-opener for us. Our guide Thabang, who hails from Soweto, provided clear explanations and ensured we felt comfortable and safe. It was a delightful morning and an unforgettable experience. Thank you very much!
I had an incredible tour of Soweto, visiting the Nelson Mandela House and the Hector Pieterson Museum while engaging with locals in a casual settlement. My guide Thabang was exceptional, highlighting the intriguing sights in Johannesburg and Soweto. He was approachable and made me feel comfortable throughout the experience. Highly recommended.
I had a fantastic experience on this trip with a local guide. It was a great opportunity to learn about the local culture. Prince was exceptional and incredibly knowledgeable about the community.
The tour of Johannesburg's historic side was fantastic. Prince was exceptional; his knowledge and passion for the subject truly stood out. I highly recommend him.
My experience on the tour with Thabang was outstanding. He guided us through numerous locations in Soweto, revealing all the aspects of the largest neighborhood in the world. Thabang displayed an impressive knowledge of the city's history and South Africa as a whole, and he was gracious and accommodating throughout. I strongly recommend him.
I cannot recommend this at all. I'm very disappointed after spending over $100 for a tour my partner was eager to join. The driver never arrived, and the operator admitted they missed my pickup time, not the other way around. I contacted them 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup and again 10 minutes after, but received no response, even after calling 15 minutes later. Their response time is incredibly slow, and they don’t give a proper phone number until they eventually get back to you. The number in the email directs to an unrelated international hotel.
Thabang provided excellent customer service; he was incredibly professional and supportive.
