Returning to this museum and cave after a few years was a delightful experience, especially with our granddaughter joining us. The day trip was efficiently organized, and our driver/guide, Ali, was punctual, pleasant, and offered a wealth of fascinating insights.
This was a fantastic and well-organized tour. Our driver, Lindela, provided exceptional service, being both friendly and informative throughout the experience.
We had an excellent tour that we highly recommend. Our driver and guide, KG, was friendly and very knowledgeable, making our hour-long drive to the caves enjoyable. At the caves, we participated in a 1.5-hour tour led by an informative guide who shared fascinating insights. Although there were a few tight spots to maneuver through, everyone managed just fine. After the caves, we visited a pleasant museum, which reinforced much of what we learned during the cave tour, making the guide's presence there a bonus.
The experience was quite engaging. The location was wonderful to explore. Limbela was an excellent guide. We gained insights into both human history and South African history. Thank you.
This experience was quite educational, reminiscent of a natural history museum at Maropeng. Our guide, Patrick, demonstrated a deep knowledge of life's evolution. The museum featured several interactive displays that enhanced learning. The cave tour reinforced the evolutionary concepts presented at the small introductory museum, and both the caves and the guide were outstanding.
The two locations convey the same story, but each presents it differently. We appreciated the cave experience more, and our guide was quite humorous. In contrast, the museum guide focused more on facts. The boat ride felt odd, like something from a Disney theme park, and seemed unnecessary to us. Our driver was superb and offered valuable insights into South African life and customs.
Pastor was an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging guide. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Sterkfontein caves, which were a highlight, as well as the tour at Maropeng. It was wonderful to be in a small group and have the tour to ourselves. Thank you for a fantastic day!
The experience was fantastic and truly one-of-a-kind. However, those with back problems should be cautious, as there is some crawling involved towards the end and the spaces can be quite cramped.
This experience to the Sterkfontein Caves followed by Maropeng was outstanding. Our driver and guide, Pastor, was punctual and delightful, providing plenty of insightful background during our journey—he definitely deserves a 10 out of 10. At the Sterkfontein Caves, we wore hairnets and hard hats before beginning the tour with an excellent, knowledgeable guide. Our 10 am English-speaking group consisted of about 16 participants, and the tour lasted roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes. Be prepared to squat or slide out due to low ceilings. After the caves, we visited Maropeng, which felt like a vibrant, interactive museum experience, complete with an entertaining water ride at the entrance. The guide there was also extremely knowledgeable. Overall, it was a fun, informative visit that connected everything we learned in the caves. Pastor drove us back to our hotel afterward. A perfect rating for Pastor and the guides at both locations. This experience comes highly recommended.
The driver, Pasta (if I spelled that correctly), was incredibly knowledgeable and provided a lot of information. The hour-long drive felt like it lasted just 20 minutes.
