Rent a 7-speed bicycle or e-bike for three hours and explore Portsmouth and New Castle at your own pace. A staff member will assist you in selecting a route, offering suggestions on historic sites, dining options, and scenic views to capture photos.
Included with your rental are a quality hybrid bike, helmet, bag, emergency tire inflator, and lock. Arrive at the Historic John Paul Jones House 15 minutes before your reserved time for a fitting and a brief safety briefing, covering road rules and bike operation. A map with recommended routes will be provided.

I am extremely disappointed with this company. We had booked a cultural/history tour more than three months in advance and communicated our flight concerns multiple times. However, they canceled the tour at 5:00 pm the night before, sending a very impersonal email. This was meant to be our first activity in New Hampshire for our anniversary weekend, leaving us no time to find another option. Our evening plans prevented us from searching, and we lost half of our vacation just waiting. This situation is incredibly frustrating. I understand cancellations can happen for various reasons, but they canceled simply due to low attendance, prioritizing profits over customer experience. In my years of traveling, I have never encountered a tour cancellation for that reason. It’s unreasonable to provide such short notice, especially for travelers investing their time and money. They should have notified us days ahead so we could arrange another activity. Their customer service was lacking, reflecting poor business practices. They tout “legendary customer service” on their website, but they've proven otherwise. This is, by far, the worst customer service I've experienced regarding a vacation tour, and I cannot recommend them.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day exploring the history and sights of Portsmouth and New Castle by bike. Dawn is an exceptional storyteller, enriching each location with fascinating tales about the forts, houses, parks, and attractions we visited. The bikes were easy to handle, making this a fantastic way to familiarize ourselves with Portsmouth. The three hours were packed with insightful historical narratives about this amazing region of New England.

This was the best bike tour I’ve ever experienced. Although it was self-guided, the staff provided an excellent briefing, along with a map and plenty of resources. The scenery was stunning, taking us across various islands and along the coast. Thanks to a New Hampshire law requiring cars to maintain a three-foot distance, as well as our bright yellow vests and helmets, we felt very secure. The bikes were outstanding. My friend and I, who aren’t regular cyclists, managed to cover 23 miles in just three hours, which was an impressive feat for us. I am considering purchasing similar bikes for use at home. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour.
The 22-mile route to Rye Harbour was easy to navigate and offered plenty to see, especially in pleasant weather. Drivers were considerate, and the roads were fairly calm. Helmets and vests were provided.
I had a fantastic experience renting bikes for three hours to explore Portsmouth and New Castle, NH. The bike shop provided us with two 7-speed hybrid bikes and helmets, both of which were excellent. We also received a map of attractions and a bike lock. It was an enjoyable outing, and I strongly recommend it.
