The boat ride around Portland, Maine was wonderful. We saw several lighthouses and numerous islands while learning a great deal about the area. There were both indoor and outdoor seating choices, but if you're visiting in the fall, be sure to dress in layers as it gets cold after sunset. Our tour guide was excellent and addressed all our questions.
This tour was disappointing for both me and my family. The large swells made us all feel quite nauseated, and I would not suggest it to anyone. The captain could have waited for calmer waters or taken a smoother path. Overall, it was a rather unpleasant experience. Additionally, the tour lacked excitement and the commentary highlighted poor zoning decisions from the 70s and 80s.
