Our visit to Portland, MA was our first, and we thought a boat tour would be an ideal way to photograph the lighthouses from the water. However, we were disappointed that our guide didn't get closer for better shots, particularly since the water was a bit rough. Thanks to the zoom on our cameras, we managed some photos. The following day, we saw the same tour doing a much better job, getting closer to the Portland Head Lighthouse and exploring both sides, which we regretted missing.
This was an incredible experience. The captain and guide were extremely informative and welcoming. Dress warmly because it can get quite chilly, but it’s a wonderful tour overall.
