The tour was a wonderful, more relaxed experience with ample time spent at The Blue Lagoon and the Cascades, and lunch was enjoyable. However, the Turtle Sanctuary fell short of expectations; I appreciate their efforts, but I doubt many turtles reach full maturity there. A visual demonstration of the entire process might enhance understanding.
The driver arrived late without any communication, forcing me to reach out to the company several times just to confirm our pickup time the day prior. While we visited all the stunning locations, our guide showed little engagement, providing no information and leaving us to explore without clarifying the meeting time. Additionally, we traveled in a bus instead of the company van shown in the pictures. Though I appreciated the destinations, the service from the company fell short of my expectations.
The experience we had did not match the advertising. Although the listing has since changed, our disappointment remains. We specifically chose this tour to visit the Cascades, a special location from our honeymoon, but were informed during the trip that it was inaccessible due to cost issues. The alternative site offered was closed, and another tour option was proposed, which we couldn't take as we were leaving. Service was lacking and it's crucial for other buyers to be aware.
The tour was outstanding. Our guide Jnr was incredibly knowledgeable about the island and eagerly addressed all our questions. Every location we visited was stunning and well-maintained. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience; it was an amazing day where we met some great people.
We had a wonderful day exploring the authentic Vanuatu, thanks to our helpful and insightful guide, Junior. It's best to visit when no cruises are in port, as we enjoyed the Blue Lagoon all to ourselves. The tranquility was great, but be cautious of Fire Ants at the waterfalls; that part was not so enjoyable.
I had an exceptional tour led by Charlie from Atmosphere Adventures, exploring the culture and stunning landscapes of Port Vila and the eastern side of Efate Island in Vanuatu. As someone who has traveled extensively and experienced many tours, I can confidently say that Charlie's ability to explain the area's history and contemporary culture was unparalleled, providing me with a thorough introduction on my first full day in Vanuatu. Highlights included swimming in the pristine waters of the Blue Lagoon and Eden River, enjoying a fantastic lunch at the Ocean Shore at Banana Beach Club, and sharing a few cups of Kava with Charlie on our way back to Port Vila. I give this experience a full five stars.
Make sure to pack your swim gear. The experience is invigorating, but it can get quite crowded if there are one or two cruise ships in Port Villa.
The day started late, very much in island time. The Blue Lagoon was pleasant, but the wooden platforms were old and decaying, so caution is advised. The turtles were enjoyable, and the BBQ lunch was relaxed. However, the waterfalls had some dangerously slippery spots, and there was a strong current while swimming.
The tour doesn’t quite last a full day, more like a half day with an early pick-up. The Blue Lagoon is stunning, offering plenty of space for visitors. It can be lively or tranquil based on your location. However, the turtles aren't seen in the ocean or through snorkeling; instead, they are kept in a "marine sanctuary" resembling a small concrete pool that feels more like a zoo, with questionable claims of being in the wild. Lunch served there was unexpectedly good and generous. The Rarru cascades are well-designed with safe pathways, but swimming can be risky as there are no lifeguards present, so it's important to be cautious if you go alone. Overall, the tour was decent, with a friendly driver and a comfortable ride. Yet, considering the cost, it feels slightly overpriced for what is actually offered.
Finding the location was slightly tricky, but it didn’t take too long. The tour itself was fantastic, and the staff were excellent. It lasted six hours, returning us to the port with an hour to spare. The equipment at the location is outdated, so if you’re not a strong swimmer, bringing your own life jacket is advisable. Our driver, Steve, was great, and the entire team shows a real passion for their work. I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing this tour.
