Exploring Port Aransas, Texas, was an incredible experience for us. Initially, we were confused at the meeting point, but it turned out to be a smooth digital process. The local businesses we visited were unaware of the hunt but eagerly assisted us in earning points. We encountered fascinating locals and discovered new places, all while reconnecting as a couple after years of hard work. Our host provided excellent hints and directions, enhancing our enjoyment. I would rate this experience ten stars if possible. My only suggestion is for the hosts to communicate with the businesses about the game in advance.
I expected more for the $27 per person fee than receiving just a slideshow deck guiding me on what photos to take for points. Communication happened through WhatsApp, and while the host was friendly, the experience felt disappointing. It would have been more engaging with puzzles or a proper scavenger hunt. The point tallying seemed pointless without any competition. The idea is solid, but the execution fell short.
Imagine a group of lively, dedicated professionals unleashed on a scavenger hunt—that was my idea for a team bonding event. What better way to expend our energy than to dash around hunting for quirky items? It turned out to be an exhilarating experience. We started with Kat, our scavenger hunt expert, who was incredibly organized and had all the necessary information at her fingertips. She expertly answered all my queries, proving that orchestrating chaos can indeed be done effectively. Once the game commenced, we divided into three teams and raced against one another with fierce enthusiasm. It felt like watching a bunch of hyper squirrels on a mission. Luckily, the instructions were clear, which was a relief since I often struggle with navigation. We zoomed around, uncovering hidden treasures and unique spots throughout the area, reminiscent of a real-life episode of The Amazing Race—minus the cash prize. But who needs monetary rewards when you're having so much fun? If you're weary of the typical resort experience and seek something different that leaves you in stitches, this scavenger hunt is a perfect choice. Just be ready to let loose and embrace the excitement. You won’t regret it, and you’ll have some entertaining stories to share back at the office.
The concept was enjoyable, but it could benefit from clearer clues. Additionally, we were not informed that WhatsApp was necessary, as we were initially told we could use email or text, which created confusion. However, we rented a golf cart for the hunt and had a great time!
Our team thoroughly enjoyed the competition during the scavenger hunt. The virtual hosts were highly engaging, and the various stops were both creative and entertaining. I would absolutely recommend this experience.
We did not enjoy the experience. The activities required interviewing three locals and creating a TikTok video, which did not appeal to us. There was no actual person to engage with; everything was managed through an app. At $22 per person, it felt overpriced. When we declined to participate, the only alternative offered was another scavenger hunt, which we also were not interested in.
Aside from getting a bit lost, I had a fantastic time. I enjoyed it but thought I would navigate better, though the town has really expanded! If you're nearby, it's definitely worth doing.
