Pickup is available from hotels located in the city center or from designated locations within city limits. If pickup is requested from areas outside these central points, an additional fee will be charged based on the distance.

• In the morning, pickup will occur from your hotel, and a guide will lead a city tour. As you explore, observe the French influence on the facades of Mediterranean-style homes, local bakeries, and the streets. French continues to be spoken by the residents, though English is commonly understood. Pondicherry is also known as the 'French Riviera of the East.' Visit the historic French quarter and see the differences compared to the newly developed areas. Appreciate the long, rugged coastline from the beach promenade. Explore Bharati Park, the main green space in the city. Other significant sites include Government Park, the Botanical Gardens, and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Also, visit Gandhi Mandappam, which holds the tallest statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the nation. • Following this, travel to Auroville, meaning ‘City of Dawn.’ This diverse community includes residents from over 50 countries, with architecture that illustrates its inclusiveness. Visit Matrimandir, a golden, flower-shaped center for meditation, and take some time for quiet reflection. Auroville represents a lifestyle rather than a typical destination. Gain insight into this way of life at the Sri Aurobindo ashram. At the conclusion of the tour, lunch will be served at a local restaurant (beverages not included). Post-lunch, transportation will return you to your hotel.
