This was a remarkable chance to observe a large seal colony near the Robberg Peninsula. Upon arrival, we received full wetsuits, snorkel gear, fins, and gloves. The ride to the site was on a RIB, which was thrilling and bumpy. My wife joined but chose not to swim; the crew helped her stay dry while offering insightful information on seal behavior once the rest of us entered the water. We spent around 30 minutes swimming, during which we were advised not to touch the seals. I appreciated this approach, as their natural curiosity meant they swam all around us. We were warned they might nibble on our fingers, which they did—thankfully, we had gloves on for some protection. Spending this time with these magnificent animals in their habitat was an unforgettable experience. The crew also captured photos that we could access for free. There’s no need to bring much on the boat, but they do provide dry storage for small items. An excellent experience overall.

An experience you simply can't miss. It was truly fantastic. Initially, I had concerns about rabies and sharks, but Ash and Logan were exceptional. They clearly communicated the risks, yet their daily experience in the water made me feel completely safe. When any bull seemed a bit too territorial, Logan guided us away, while Ash strategically placed the boat between us and the bull. I was able to relax and enjoy the playful seals around us. The RIB ride was particularly thrilling.

A sincere thanks to Chris and Logan for looking after us—especially important as we had our 10-year-old son with us, and their emphasis on safety was reassuring. They provided all necessary equipment, including wetsuits, snorkels, and fins, and their photo service made it easy for us to focus on enjoying the seals. With around 12 participants, we received personalized attention, and the time spent in the water was perfect—not too long to get chilly or fatigued, but just enough to appreciate the seals swimming nearby.
