I had a great time on the tour with Todd. He shared a lot of historical information throughout, which was well integrated into the walk. The time flew by. He was both friendly and professional.
Doug was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We gained a lot of insight. My only issue was the meetup location was incorrect; the address pointed to the convention center, while the true meeting spot was at a bike shop down the street. Aside from that, it was a fantastic experience. If you enjoy history and architecture, this tour is perfect for you.
The following year, I was unexpectedly assigned to the American subsidiary for the ITC project validations. My journey took me to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a flight that included a tricky landing in freezing temperatures of -25 degrees Fahrenheit. Pittsburgh is a stunning 17th-century city where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers meet, creating the Ohio River, navigable all the way to the Mississippi. The view from Mount Washington's funicular showcases the city's winding streets, historic bridges, and tall buildings. I also visited Monroe Village, Fort Pitt, and Duquesne, rich in the history of American colonial battles. My mission then continued to Batesburg, close to Lexington and Charlotte in South Carolina, where the weather was much milder compared to Pittsburgh's chill. The state emblem, featuring a palmetto under the moon, is a common sight on public buildings here, alongside the Southern States' historic flag, which Abraham Lincoln would have recognized.
