As a group of nine engineers with a keen interest in technology, we booked the tour to explore modern brewing and delve into Pilsen's rich history. We were pleased to have Veronika as our guide; she answered all our questions and provided insight in perfect German, giving us a strong understanding of various topics. However, our technical curiosity was left wanting as the production lines at the brewery were all inactive, with only the can filling line operational and out of view for visitors.
We enjoyed a pleasant tour in Pilsen with a group of friends, consisting of seven guys around 21 years old, starting at 11:00 am. Lunch at the brewery's restaurant was included and quite good. At 14:45, we began our brewery tour; however, we felt our guide's English could have been better. Unfortunately, the bottling process was halted for cleaning at that time, which diminished the experience for us. Despite this, it was a nice day overall, and we left the brewery around 16:30 with a beer glass as a souvenir (also included). The value for the price was excellent, and we would definitely recommend it.
We experienced everything from a guided city tour to a cellar tour, a brewery tour, and the beer festival. It was all fantastic and highly recommended. The food was delicious with options for everyone in our group of six.
With just one full day in Pilsen, we found this tour perfect for seeing the key attractions. We arrived at the meeting spot a bit early, and our guide, Lucy, was already there. She first took us to city hall to show a scale model of Pilsen and shared a brief history of what we would explore that day. We visited the stunning cathedral, the tallest in the Czech Republic, along with two synagogues and parks where the city wall used to be. Lunch was a tasty, authentic Czech meal, naturally accompanied by some Pilsner Urquell. Next, we went to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery, where Lucy detailed the brewery's history and the brewing process, and we saw both the old and new brew kettle buildings. The highlight was sampling some refreshing open-fermented, unfiltered, and un-pasteurized beer in the cellar. Lucy was engaging, addressed all our questions, and her dinner suggestion was excellent. I highly recommend this tour.
The guide was excellent, but it would have been helpful to receive more detailed information beforehand. Lunch at noon felt a bit early for us, especially after a hearty breakfast, as we expected a snack around 3pm. While I recommend the tour, advance information would improve the experience. The admission to the churches was unclear since entry is free anyway, so the ticket doesn’t offer any benefits, and the paid sections were not part of the tour. The brewery visit was enjoyable, but the beer tasting felt excessive; you only receive one glass of beer on-site.
This tour was excellent. Pilsen is an attractive town, and our guide Trish, a local, provided valuable insights. We opted for the private tour mainly due to the included brewery visit, which was unexpectedly interesting due to the building's historical significance. The cellars were indeed very cold. The lunch spot Trish picked was also wonderful. We highly recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys quality food, beer, and learning about the Czech Republic.
Our guide in Pilsen was enjoyable, sharing both historical and entertaining insights. She checked in with us about our preferences for the day's itinerary. The included lunch featured beer from the top tapper of 2022 in the Czech Republic. Afterwards, we visited the brewery, but the tour felt rushed, focusing mostly on quick facts rather than a more engaging narrative. Overall, we had a lovely day and managed to see all the key sights in Pilsen within a single day.
I really enjoyed learning about Plzen and its rich history. The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable. Walking through the city was delightful, and I appreciated the small gifts he provided.
Fantastic tour experience! Our guide, Lucie, was wonderful and provided us with extensive knowledge about the city. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and found the tour of the Pilsner factory to be very engaging.
The tour was excellent, led by a knowledgeable German-speaking guide. Pilsen is well-known and the experience was quite fascinating. I wouldn't hesitate to join another brewery tour.
