After experiencing Pirates the night before, this show struggled to measure up. While I appreciated the cleanliness of the venue, the food was average at best. Carrying plates and drinks was challenging without trays, and the green beans were excessively salty. A staff member asked for feedback, and when I provided it, she seemed taken aback and mentioned she would relay my comments to someone who could address them. It's not wise to solicit opinions if you're not ready to act on them. Guests eat on paper plates before moving to bleachers for seating. If you delay, your seats may not be ideal. The uncomfortable bleachers, despite having some support, feel cramped, and the assurance that "all seats are good" is misleading due to obstructing pillars. Many great seats were held for a school group, which diminished our viewing experience, especially of the key lumberjack skills. While the stadium offers shade, three solid walls restrict airflow, and the large ceiling fans were left off, turning the venue into a stifling environment filled with exhaust from chainsaws, making it tough to breathe. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it would be in June. The show starts slowly but is still enjoyable overall. The inclusion of two skilled female performers, dressed in short shorts while the men were more covered, raised questions about the presentation. This show aligns well with the region's theme and is a solid concept but suffers from poor execution. Some performers appeared disinterested. Nevertheless, we spent an enjoyable evening there; however, if given a choice for a dinner show, I'd recommend Pirates for its wow factor and the comfort of truly good seating.
The show was fantastic, but the pulled pork was the worst barbecue I've ever tasted—dry and lacking flavor. It felt like it was pre-packaged and just reheated. The canned green beans were good but overly salty, and the instant mashed potatoes were decent. The canned hominy and buns were acceptable for being frozen. The dessert, a blondie with frosting, seemed like an afterthought and wasn't worth it. I wouldn't consider attending another show associated with Paula Deen. Despite the amazing performance, the food was disappointing, and it seems Paula Deen prioritizes profit over food quality.
The food was terrible. Paula Deen must regret associating her name with this. The pork was dry, the green beans were salty and mushy, the corn resembled deer corn, and the mashed potatoes tasted instant. We had a light lunch anticipating "Paula Deen" cuisine, but it was nothing like that.
The food was terrible, just as others have mentioned. It felt like a makeshift buffet, with the Sister Shubert rolls being the only redeemable item, and they kept running out. It was quite disappointing. The show was decent, but it didn’t justify the cost given the poor food and chilly weather.
We visited with a group of 31 at the beginning of March. The coordination via email was excellent, and I appreciated their flexibility in adjusting our party size. Michael Kagel was a pleasure to work with. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us wonderfully. They were friendly, helpful, and patient, making us feel like VIPs. The food was the best I've experienced at dinner shows, with options beyond the usual chicken and pork. Most of our group went back for seconds and thirds. We had our own room, which had plenty of space, and the kids enjoyed moving around before the show started. The buffet was simple but really delicious, giving a genuine dining experience. Despite the rain, the show went on, and we stayed dry due to the coverage. The performance improved when the rain stopped. It was outdoors but comfortable, and those in the front rows remained dry. They did a great job engaging the audience and building excitement. An intermission allowed us to use the restroom and grab more food. Everyone expressed their gratitude and had an excellent time. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to any group.
The food was quite disappointing and poorly prepared. This was our first experience with Paula Dean's cuisine, and after this meal, we chose not to visit her restaurant. While the show met our expectations, the food did not.
We truly enjoyed our experience. The food was fantastic, which is no surprise since it's Paula Deen. If you're considering going, I highly recommend it; both the kids and I loved the dinner and the entertainment.
We waited in line for 25 minutes because our reservation couldn't be located. The girl mentioned it was due to a third-party email issue. We only got to eat until 4:45, which gave us just 15 minutes to enjoy our meal, and we could only go through the line once before it closed. Overall, I found it too pricey for what was supposed to be an “all you can eat” experience.
The show was enjoyable and interactive, with a competition aspect that was more playful than serious. While the skills displayed were notable, they didn’t leave a lasting impression. We appreciated that portion of the evening. However, despite our reservation at 5 o'clock, we arrived at 4:45 to find others had already finished eating. Our all-you-can-eat buffet was reduced to a paper plate with plastic utensils, offering only BBQ pork, corn, green beans, and macaroni, which fell short of our expectations for a wholesome meal. The food was wrapped in aluminum foil, and we had only about 10 minutes to grab our meals and drinks before the show started, forcing us to eat at picnic tables hastily. It was unclear that the meal should be consumed prior to the show, leaving us uncertain about when we should have arrived. We've experienced other dinner shows without such issues, making this overall quite disappointing.
I felt let down by the BBQ pork, green beans, mac and cheese, and corn served for dinner. The meal lacked flavor and was presented poorly on a paper plate with plastic utensils and a paper cup for soda. The dessert options, either a cookie or cake, were both dry. While the show featured a mix of performances and impressive skills, it seemed overly rehearsed, and the performers appeared disinterested. Overall, it was overpriced for the experience, especially compared to other dinner shows I've attended. I also booked through a different site and wasn't advised to arrive early for the buffet, which was served at picnic tables, leaving me just 10 minutes to grab food and eat. Disappointing overall.
