This tour is an excellent way to spend the day. It’s an entire day, but absolutely worthwhile. Aldo is an outstanding guide; he keeps everyone informed and safe while treating the group like family. The views are stunning, and Aldo shares insightful history. The helicopter ride offers the most breathtaking perspective of the canyon. It's perfect for those who want to relax and take in the scenery without the hassle of driving. This adventure is highly recommended.
My husband and I had a fantastic experience. We took in the stunning Grand Canyon from both aerial and ground perspectives, providing us with two distinct views that were equally beautiful. Aldo, our driver and guide, contributed greatly to our trip with his kindness and his passion for Arizona. He led us to less crowded spots in the national park, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty. The park is truly a marvel and a must-see. Thank you for such a wonderful day!
Late February brought record high temperatures, making for an excellent trip. One crucial detail people overlook is to bring binoculars; they allowed us to see sights in the Grand Canyon that others missed, such as the Colorado River and the camp at the bottom where staff live. Mark was our guide, picking us up from a neutral hotel and sharing informative insights during the journey to the Grand Canyon. The comfortable 12-person bus, equipped with full windows, made the ride enjoyable, with stops for restrooms and snacks. Once at the Grand Canyon, he took us to various lookout points. We had a 2 PM helicopter ride, and since we were the only ones from the bus going on it, Mark dropped the other guests at the historic lodge first. The photos and videos I captured are breathtaking; my friends are eager to see what most will never experience. Our Maverick Helicopter pilot was outstanding, making us feel secure and providing informative commentary while flying over the Grand Canyon. This experience is unforgettable, and my husband insisted we take the helicopter if we traveled this far, which turned out to be a wise decision.
The entire experience was fantastic. The pickup and drop-off went smoothly, the short hike was enjoyable with lovely weather, and the helicopter tour was truly awe-inspiring.
Bruce, our driver and tour guide, was outstanding and highly knowledgeable. The helicopter journey over the canyon was incredible and definitely worth it. However, we found the food stops lacking, as the pit stop offered only snacks like crisps and nuts, with no substantial options such as sandwiches. It would have been better to stop at a service station with proper food outlets on the way there and back. Consequently, we went from 8 am pickup to 7 pm drop-off without eating a proper meal.
The experience was incredible. I highly suggest taking the helicopter tour. Both the van and helicopter were very comfortable and modern. Although I have some back and hip pain, the long drive wasn't a problem. Our guide was thoughtful and attentive. We stopped 4 or 5 times in the park for views and photos, as well as some breaks for refreshments. The park itself was stunning, and the helicopter ride offered breathtaking panoramic views that are hard to put into words. I completely endorse this tour.
Exceptional experiences. The execution by Detour Travels and Viator was impeccable, smooth, punctual, and customer-friendly, with a highly knowledgeable guide named Han. I would gladly use their services globally again.
Guide Han was extremely helpful. The tour, which included a drive from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon followed by a helicopter ride, was well-organized. I highly recommend experiencing the Grand Canyon from the air. The pickup near our accommodation and the availability of free parking were also great aspects. The tour company's communication was excellent.
The experience was fantastic. The entire process, from hotel pickup to drop-off, was smooth and met expectations. Han, our tour guide, was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. The stop in Sedona allowed for great photo opportunities and a taste of the local culture before heading to the Grand Canyon. The helicopter ride was transformative and was something I had always wanted to do. I strongly recommend Detours for anyone seeking an excellent tour operator and this experience for those wanting to experience a lot in a limited time. However, we faced nearly an hour delay due to road construction, which cut into our Grand Canyon time, yet we still managed to see the main highlights.
I highly recommend this day trip, which offers a fantastic experience. Given the distance from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon, it involves a lot of sitting, so wear comfortable clothing. Good walking shoes are essential since the trails into the canyon consist of dirt and rocks. The temperature at the canyon is significantly cooler, so bring a jacket. Our driver Mark provided several stops en route for snacks and restroom breaks, but you can bring your own food if you'd like. Keep in mind you'll need to arrange your own lunch, as prices in the canyon park are unexpectedly high. Mark ensured we had plenty of cold water throughout the trip. He was very knowledgeable, sharing insights about the geological regions of Arizona, the local plants, climate, and both past and current inhabitants of the area.
