We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Tate was an outstanding guide—well-informed, engaging, and truly passionate about Philadelphia's art scene. The combination of murals, neighborhood history, and the Magic Gardens was ideal, and he highlighted many details we would have overlooked on our own. I highly recommend it.
The tour of the murals and other artworks in the South 7th Street neighborhood was very engaging. It also included a complimentary visit to the Magic Garden museum. I had a wonderful time.
I can't recommend this tour. The high ratings led me to book it, but it should really be called the Isaiah Zagar tour. It was primarily focused on Zagar's mosaics during the two-hour walking tour, with only a few painted murals that weren't emphasized. The tour began with visits to two shops, which felt odd and like a waste of time; I can browse stores on my own. There was even a thrift store stop during the tour, which added to the strangeness. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but it’s important for others to understand what this tour truly offers. By the time we reached the Magic Garden, I had already seen so many similar Zagar pieces that I wanted to leave. I regret not visiting the garden independently. There was also minimal information shared about the murals and their history, mostly focusing on Zagar's life, which was also limited. I join tours to gain deeper insight on topics, but this one fell short. There are impressive large-scale murals in the city center worth checking out if you're a mural enthusiast. The murals shown on the tour's south side were underwhelming.
Tate is an excellent guide—both knowledgeable and kind-hearted. The murals are truly a treasure in outdoor art.
The tour guide was excellent, blending art and history in that charming neighborhood. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
The murals were stunning, and the history behind them was incredibly interesting. Our guide, Chuck, went above and beyond, pointing out each piece of art on South Street and sharing the city’s stories. His enthusiasm made the tour truly special and enjoyable. The Magic Gardens offered a delightful maze-like experience, while the gallery featuring local artists was a standout moment.
A fantastic experience to explore incredible art while gaining insights into Philadelphia's culture and history. My guide, Chuck, was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided excellent tips for my trip. I highly recommend this leisurely walking tour.
This tour was fantastic. Our guide, Chuck, shared a wealth of information and infused the experience with great energy. He included insights about the local area beyond just the art, even touching on cheesesteaks. We walked just over a mile, with several stops in shops along the way. The entire tour lasted around 2.5 hours, culminating in the Magic Gardens, where we could explore independently after the tour ended. The artwork was stunning, made even more meaningful by the stories shared. Thank you, Chuck!
Chuck, our guide, provided excellent insights into both the art scene and the city's history. Be ready to walk and dress for the weather. This tour was fantastic, along with great suggestions for activities in Philadelphia.
Carla was an excellent tour guide, and we gained a lot of insights into the history of the street art scene in the south. It was a fantastic day for the family.
