• The meeting point for the tour is at the horse riding area, where the journey begins. Along the route, various caves and attractions of Petra can be observed; the traveler will arrive at the SIQ, the ancient primary entrance to the city of Petra, which starts at the Dam and stretches approximately 1200 meters long, varying between 3 to 12 meters wide and reaching heights of about 80 meters. The remnants of the city’s gate can still be seen at the beginning of the Siq. On either side of the Siq, channels were constructed for drawing water from Wadi Musa (the Valley of Moses). The Siq eventually leads to Alkhazneh, Petra’s most impressive sight, towering nearly 40 meters with detailed decorations, including Corinthian capitals and friezes. • The Nabataean temple known as Qasr Al-Bint stands within a spacious paved enclosure to a height of 23 meters. This structure is surrounded by a peribolos, an outer wall that featured seating added during the reign of King Aretas IV. Visitors can find chambers with balcony roofs, accessible via stairways built into the walls. • This area refers to the series of grand Nabataean tombs carved into the southern cliff face, located beyond the Treasury and next to the outer Siq. As the traveler moves past the Treasury, the Siq gradually widens into an open space, flanked by numerous Nabataean burial sites adorned with grindstones and other decorative elements. • A deep courtyard precedes this site, featuring colonnades on two sides. High in the facade, three niches lead to small burial chambers, which were modified in 446 AD to function as a Byzantine church.
