Heritage walks, museum days, temple complexes, and the kind of guides who explain why a place matters rather than reciting dates. The cultural side of Pangkalan Bun, paced for actual seeing.
1This tour is unique because it offers two unforgettable experiences in one trip to Kalimantan, Borneo: 1. Live like a Local Dayak: Immerse yourself in the fascinating culture of the Dayak people, visiting a traditional village and learning about their customs and traditions. Interact with the friendly Dayak community, experiencing their way of life firsthand. Witness unique rituals and ceremonies, gaining a deeper understanding of their rich cultural heritage. 2. Explore Tanjung Puting National Park: Embark on a wildlife adventure in the heart of Borneo, observing orangutans in their natural habitat. Cruise along the Sekonyer River, surrounded by lush rainforest teeming with diverse flora and fauna. Enjoy guided walks and hikes, spotting proboscis monkeys, gibbons, and other exotic animals. Experience the best of both worlds: Combine cultural immersion with wildlife encounters for a truly holistic and unforgettable journey.
2We are offering a small group tour, sharing with another traveler. Every small group will need a maximum of 12 people. We will use a large boat and share accommodation on board. River cruising into the Bornean legendary rainforest and staying on the typical boat called a kelotok, your floating homestay. Visiting the 2 Orangutan feeding stations: Tanjung Harapan, and the most historical Camp Leakey, first research of the Bornean Orangutan started. Packs of endemic primates in Borneo: Proboscis Monkey-big nose and fatty-bellied, Sundaic-silvered Langur with their golden baby. Cruising into the black water river-Simpang Kanan river You will understand why DR. Birute M.F. Galdikas wrote her book: Reflection of Eden: My Years with the Orangutans in Borneo.
