For years, we've enjoyed purchasing distinctive chocolates and caramels from Choke Cherry. They are always fresh and delicious. I've also bought some kitchen gadgets from there, and I still appreciate them.
While camping at Pagosa Springs RV Park, I visited downtown for some sightseeing and shopping. A local shop owner suggested The Choke Cherry Tree, located on the other side of historic downtown in a mall near City Market. They make candy on-site and offer many unique items, including Choke Cherry preserves. The sea salt caramel was the best I've ever tasted, so I returned the next day for more. I also purchased a sampler pack with toffee and other confections that were delightful. I highly recommend this place for candy enthusiasts.
The hostess was extraordinary, making the experience truly fantastic. We definitely plan to return. We came away with our own chocolate creations, plus a good amount of goodies from the store.
Five wonderful women from New Mexico enjoyed a fantastic time creating tasty chocolates with Jenelle. I highly recommend this experience.
The owner and instructor was outstanding! She shared fascinating stories about the history of chocolate and was very patient while we created our own treats. We all left with a box filled with an assortment of delightful chocolates.
Jenelle was wonderful—knowledgeable, engaging, and did a fantastic job explaining the history of chocolate, referred to as bitter water. She provided great insights and allowed everyone to dip various items into her delicious chocolate. We then visited her store, which was filled with indulgent treats. The store manager even joined us for a taste of one of the chocolates. Sending love from "The Utter People."
My daughter and I really enjoyed this activity, especially the fascinating history behind chocolate. I would highly recommend it.
I enjoyed learning about the history of chocolate and its evolution in the US. The tasting experience highlighted the differences in separation, technique, and cooling. It was a great time, and I would definitely recommend it.
