1Have you heard about the Camino de Santiago and even considered walking one of its itineraries (yes, there are multiple routes!)? But you do not have the possibility to take a few weeks off? Or are you doubting whether you are able to hike 20-30 km for multiple days in a row? This tour offers you the possibility to be a pilgrim for half a day by walking part (i.e. 12 kilometers) of the 'Camino Primitivo'. Along the way, I will share specific insights with you about the Asturian history, gastronomy and nature.
2The route runs from Las Caldas Villa Termal (10 minutes from Oviedo) to Trubia. A total of 6 km that you will do accompanied by a guide, in full nature and without crowds. It is an exclusive experience in a stretch of river where only our canoes go down so you will not see anyone else, it takes place in a natural environment full of waterfowl that we can observe as well as riverside fauna and flora, you will go down accompanied by A nature guide that will help you go through the best places. This section is level II and has a lot of water since it is the main river of Asturias and you will notice small rapids, waves and natural slides in the river so the descent will be very entertaining. It is essential to know how to swim and not be afraid of water.
3This experience gives you the opportunity to be a real Oventense (person from Oviedo) for a day, by doing something they love: walking a Senda Verde (green route), relaxing in an old Spa and enjoying a typical Asturian lunch! You start in Parque de Invierno in the south of Oviedo. The route follows an old railway line, about which your guide tells you more during the hike. The car-free road starts in the park but soon leads through the Asturian countryside. You walk through old train tunnels and cross Asturias' most important river, the Nalon. During your hike the guide tells you more about the natural surroundings, history, culture and gastronomy of Asturias. After 10k, you arrive at the Spa in Las Caldas where you spend 2.5 hours in its warm water and saunas. After this, you enjoy a well-deserved Menu del Dia (three-course menu) in one of the village's restaurants. Then, a private car brings you back to Oviedo.
4Discover Somiedo Natural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve! We will begin our journey at the Alto de la Farrapona mountain pass, where you'll enjoy panoramic views and have the chance to spot wildlife from designated bear-watching viewpoints. Next, we’ll take a scenic hike to Lago La Cueva, a stunning lake surrounded by majestic mountains. Our adventure continues with a visit to the Somiedo Ecomuseum, where you’ll learn about local culture, transhumance, and traditional thatched-roof huts. We’ll also explore the charming village of Pola de Somiedo, before heading to La Peral, where we’ll take in breathtaking views of the valley from the Mirador del Príncipe. This tour is perfect for nature lovers, hikers, and wildlife enthusiasts!
