It was quite fascinating, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ottawa. The guide was knowledgeable and personable, and the schedule was adhered to perfectly.
I participated in an English-speaking tour that included international guests. Since it was my first trip to Ottawa to visit family, I joined the tour alone and was the only English-speaking Canadian present. Our guide, Lee, was outstanding in providing information about the area's history and its importance within Canadian history. He consistently checked on everyone's comfort and safety, especially in crowded places. At each stop, he invited questions and answered them with respect. I highly recommend this experience.
The experience was enjoyable with plenty of walking, and the weather was comfortable. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. However, I felt we didn’t spend enough time at Byward Market, as we seemed to run out of time.
Ottawa is a fantastic city to explore. I enjoyed my visit for a contemporary dance performance and quality time with my daughter. The city is charming, with friendly locals, walkable streets, and numerous excellent restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs. The riverside and canal views are stunning, and there are plenty of great places to experience history, art, and culture, including museums, the National Gallery, and Parliament. I highly recommend a visit.
The tour was outstanding. Our guide Lee was exceptionally knowledgeable and shared the history of Canada and Ottawa in an engaging and entertaining manner, offering insights and stories that go beyond what's found in standard guidebooks. The itinerary and depth of information were spot on. After three hours on this tour, I gained more knowledge and enjoyment than in the first three days of my trip. I highly recommend it.
The tour was fantastic, and Lee was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly.
Lee is outstanding. Ottawa is an exceptionally beautiful city.
The tour guide requested specific tip amounts at the end, suggesting $25 for poor, $35 for average, and over $40 for excellent service. I found this quite unusual, especially since I had just spent two weeks in Europe on various tours. As one of only two Canadians among 18 international tourists, I felt uncomfortable with the tipping expectations. While the walking tour was enjoyable, I struggled to hear the guide clearly.
The tour guide lacked knowledge about the city's history and was not engaging at all. Instead of offering informative insights, she mainly made observations about what we saw and struggled to answer questions from the group. At times, she provided inaccurate information regarding dates and facts at various sites. This experience was very disappointing, leading participants to reference Wikipedia for more interesting details. Overall, this was one of the worst tours we've experienced.
This tour was poorly organized and disappointing. Although our guide was friendly and an Ottawa native, she struggled to manage a large group in busy areas. Her delivery was rushed and too quiet, often deflecting questions instead of answering them. The selection of tour highlights was questionable; many stops felt like promotions for businesses, and important sites, like Parliament, had merely superficial commentary. A major oversight was the nearly absent acknowledgment of First Nation history. Our guide trivialized racism as a past issue and downplayed the significance of key monuments and figures. With so many walking tours available in Ottawa, we regret not choosing a different option.
