Having fished extensively across the USA, Canada, and Mexico, my six-hour charter with Captain James Bertrand off Alabama stands out as one of my best experiences. The action was relentless, and this captain truly knows how to find the fish. During my April trip, although I had to release most Red Snappers due to the closed season, I still caught keepers like Vermillion Snappers and Triggerfish. He takes care of cleaning and bagging any fish you keep. The quality of his boat and gear is exceptional, featuring a GPS-controlled trolling motor that eliminates the need for an anchor, allowing us to stay right over the fish. With bait like squid or cigar minnows, we were reeling them in consistently. The fishing was outstanding at every spot he chose, and I was amazed at the large fish that came to the surface when he chummed the water. I plan to return next year when the Red Snapper season opens.
We had an excellent time on the trip. Captain James ensured that we were catching fish non-stop throughout the day. Brandon kept everyone happy and engaged in fishing. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
