This one-day tour combines hiking, kayaking, and sunset viewing on Ometepe Island. Starting with a one-hour drive, you’ll then hike for about two hours to reach the San Ramon Waterfall, where a refreshing swim in the pool is highly recommended.
After the hike, the adventure continues with kayaking on the Istian River, allowing you to navigate through marshy terrain and spot local wildlife, including birds, turtles, alligators, butterflies, and monkeys. The tour culminates with a sunset viewing from Punta Jesus Maria, Playa Mangos, or Playa El Peru, the best locations to watch the sky transform with hues of pink, orange, and purple as day turns to night.

What an amazing experience. If you're looking for a tour company in Ometepe, I highly recommend Happy Tours. Booking was seamless through WhatsApp; I arranged a full-day tour at 5 PM the day before. They organized my hotel pick-up and lunch efficiently. I chose a tour that included the Waterfalls, Ojo de Agua, kayaking, and a sunset at Playa Mangos. My guide, Donald, picked me up on a motorbike and made the day unforgettable. He was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure I had a fantastic time. I saw many attractions that I wouldn't have discovered on my own, and since I'm not comfortable on a scooter or quad, this was a perfect option. At the end of the day, I even received a personalized edited video. If I could award ten stars, I would. The experience was well worth it, and I’d gladly book again. Having done other tours in Ometepe and Nicaragua, this one is truly exceptional.
What an incredible day! In the morning, Donald picked me up, and we headed to the San Ramon waterfall on a motorcycle. The hike had some elevation but was manageable, offering stunning views. Donald is a great guy, easy to talk to about anything, and I appreciated his offer to practice Spanish throughout the day. The kayaking tour to Rio Istiam with Enderson was phenomenal. We spotted various animal species, and he knows exactly where to find caimans. We concluded our adventure at Playa Peru, taking in the sunset. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves nature and wants to discover beautiful spots on Ometepe with local insight. Thank you, Donald and the happy tours team, for such a wonderful experience. I'm eager for my next visit to Ometepe.
I had an excellent experience on this private tour. The stunning waterfall and picturesque views while kayaking were highlights. We encountered numerous Caimans! Donald was an entertaining and funny guide. I highly suggest this tour.
