A challenging day hike, featuring 10 miles of trails and spectacular views of the northern Cascade Mountains and Olympic range, culminating at 6,200 feet on Maiden Peak.
This private hike covers roughly 10 miles on the eastern section of the Grand Ridge trail, which is the highest maintained trail in Olympic National Park. Starting at Deer Park, located at 5,300 feet, the trail winds through subalpine forests and meadows filled with wildflowers before reaching 6,200 feet on Maiden Peak.
Throughout the hike, you'll encounter expansive views, including Mount Baker to the east, Vancouver Island across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north, and sweeping panoramas of the Olympic mountains to the south. This is a demanding trek better suited for experienced hikers, and it requires a good fitness level and proper outdoor gear.
