This tour was incredibly enjoyable and I would highly recommend it. We visited numerous places over approximately three hours, all while comfortably air-conditioned. Our guide, Anne, was wonderful—knowledgeable and very accommodating. We appreciated discussing North Carolina's history and the island's contemporary life with her. A visit to the French patisserie was definitely a delicious highlight.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring this stunning island with Gaëtan. He made the entire experience feel personal, sharing many fascinating facts and historical insights about Nouméa. The pickup was punctual, and the vehicle was roomy, comfortable, and air-conditioned. At each stop, we had ample time and freedom to wander around, capture photos, particularly from the high viewpoints that offered a complete view of the island. Gaëtan was always ready to provide additional information if we needed it. We highly recommend this experience.
Anne provided a great overview of Noumea, taking us to viewpoints and attractions not included in other tours. It was both informative and unique.
Anne, our guide, shared extensive knowledge about New Caledonia and Noumea. She also brought us to several local beaches and viewpoints. I would definitely suggest this tour to my friends.
I urge you to avoid this tour. Ann had my original review removed after I shared my honest experience. Despite paying $700 AUD, we found every promised stop closed, which they knew since it's Monday in Noumea. When I spoke to Geaton about this, he acknowledged we went to the markets but dismissed their closure. Instead of a tour, we ended up at a supermarket and that was deemed a positive experience. Ann spent considerable time on her phone to arrange scuba diving for my son, seemingly to benefit her friend, while we wanted to leave. Additionally, she began the tour by sharing inappropriate personal matters that made us uncomfortable. I was warned that sharing those details could lead to my review being taken down again. Proceed with caution if you consider this tour.
Brian was outstanding. He was friendly and well-informed about North Carolina. We had a fantastic time visiting locations that typical tours often overlook.
I was quite let down by this experience. We expected insights about Noumea, New Caledonia, and the Kanaks, but our questions received very little information. Some locations were closed, yet we were still brought there. Additionally, Gaetan was often on his phone making future bookings instead of focusing on us. He should update his knowledge about the country and attend to his guests better. We've taken many private tours globally, and this was the least satisfactory.
The guide was kind and lovely. The tour began well, but I would have liked to spend additional time at some of the later stops. The locations were breathtaking, but considering we paid $342 AUD for two, the experience felt a bit underwhelming.
The experience was extremely disappointing. Shortly after four of us got in, the van broke a door. The driver took it to a distant workshop and then asked us to cover the repair costs. When we requested water, he told us we needed to pay him to buy some, although we were promised water in the conditions. We spent three hours without extending the time to account for the repairs. He even suggested we pay an additional 100 euros for one more hour. I would not recommend this.
The driver was friendly, but did not serve as a tour guide and had limited knowledge of the area and its culture. We spent 30 minutes trying to locate him due to unclear meeting point instructions, as the WhatsApp number provided was for the manager in Tahiti, who was unresponsive. The sights were enjoyable, but we returned earlier than expected, making it not a full 3-hour tour.
