Reviews
The tour met my expectations by visiting the three main attractions I was eager to see: the cultural centre, the zoological and botanical gardens, and La Marmite et tire bouchon. I appreciated the ample time to explore these sites. However, I rated it three stars due to the guide, who overly focused on her own skills and the tips she received, which detracted from the overall experience. I suggest booking this tour but hope for a different guide than the one we had.
Gaëtan, our driver, was very friendly and always had a smile. His great sense of humor made our experience enjoyable, allowing us to discover some beautiful locations.
We were a bit worried about the language barrier since we don’t speak much French, but Anne immediately eased our concerns with her warm welcome. She was very flexible, tailoring the day to our preferences and providing excellent advice on activities and destinations. It's unfortunate we are leaving the island soon, as we would have loved to book more of her tours.
What a fantastic day! It offered a mix of cultural insights and delicious food experiences. The lunch at Marmite was delightful, and I loved visiting Tonton Jules Chocolate shop. The visit to the cultural center and nature park was also enjoyable. Our guide, Marie/Anne, was very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour!
We had a fantastic tour of Noumea, thanks to our English-speaking driver, Yvan. He was timely, professional, and truly friendly, ensuring we had a wonderful experience. We loved the stops at the market, the chocolate shop, the viewpoint over Noumea, the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, and the zoo, but the lunch spot was definitely a highlight. I also arranged airport transfers with this company; like Yvan, Ludovic was friendly, professional, and on time. Thanks to Gaetan for coordinating the drivers. Both Yvan and Ludovic provided safe, smooth rides, which I really appreciated. Upon my return to New Caledonia, I will definitely contact them again.
This tour was incredible! I strongly recommend it. The van was spacious, clean, and perfect for small groups. The restaurant for lunch served authentic French cuisine, which was delightful.
Teresa provided an outstanding experience on the French Touch tour in Noumea. Her vehicle was spacious and comfortable, and she drove attentively. She expertly followed the itinerary, making necessary adjustments for my son, who uses a wheelchair full-time. We began our journey at the market, where we marveled at the fresh produce, including enormous grapefruits. The fish market featured a wide selection of fresh seafood, and there were also areas for clothing and souvenirs. Teresa's excellent English skills made her a valuable translator for us. We then spent ample time at the Tjibaou Cultural Center, admiring the beautiful artwork. We wandered the grounds to see traditional dwellings and gathering areas for the people of New Caledonia, and the breathtaking architecture of the Cultural Center is a must-see. For lunch, we enjoyed the exceptional cuisine at Marmite et Tire-Bouchon, a delightful French restaurant by the water. Next, we visited Lemon Bay, where an accessible mat allowed wheelchair users to glide across the sandy beach and into the water—simply fantastic! We concluded our day with a brief stop at the zoo park, situated high above the city. The afternoon's lack of crowds created the perfect setting to observe and listen to the birds. It was an incredible day in a stunning location, made all the better by our excellent guide, Teresa.
The experience surpassed our expectations, and we enjoyed meeting a local family and witnessing their craft. Our guide was friendly and very accommodating.
