One of its channels is noteworthy for passing through Al Radeeda fortress before reaching the farmlands. • The castle, named Bayt Ar Rudaydah, is located near an ancient dam that prevented floodwaters from affecting Birkat Al Mawz in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate. Falaj Khatmayn, originating from Al Jabal Al Akhdar (Green Mountain) and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, flows near this castle. Bayt Ar Rudaydah, dating back to the seventeenth century, is positioned about 24 kilometers from Nizwa at the entrance of Wadi Al Muaydin. The castle features a blend of defensive and traditional architectural elements, characterized by thick walls topped with brick clay towers, complemented by multiple arches, painted ceilings, and intricate plaster designs. The castle has been transformed into a heritage weapons museum showcasing the historical development of traditional weaponry in Oman. • Birkat al Mouz serves as an excellent location to observe the traditional Afalj / Falaj, an ancient irrigation system recognized by UNESCO. This system consists of water channels dating back to 500 AD, representing a method that is approximately 5,000 years old. • Harat al Saybani was originally constructed as the primary residence, akin to a family mansion in its prime. To the East, fortified Harat al Maqasir offers a strategic vantage point of the area. Research indicates that the fourth pillar of the settlement’s defenses, Harat al Wadi, likely functioned as a secure trading and marketing district resembling a souq. • Positioned strategically, this house allows for a view of the old ruins of Birkat al Mouz and its surroundings. Known as ‘Al Sabah al Garbi,’ it marks the historical entrance to the village. Upon ascending the stairs to the first floor, guests are welcomed by the cafe. The main cafe area, where coffee is prepared, is enclosed in glass, with a sitting area overlooking the farms.
